Our firm specializes in real estate and property transactions including purchases and loan closings and all aspects of family law including family financial mediation through a certified attorney. We also specialize in estate planning and estate administration including trusts, Medicare/Medicaid and elder law.
For years, Kellogg and Evans, P.A. has been providing legal support on a wide variety of North Carolina real estate closings involving residential, corporate and government real estate. The term "real estate" relates to real property or land, along with anything permanently attached to the land, such as buildings, houses, and immovable property.
Kellogg and Evans, P.A. includes a family law practice, which involves the legal aspects of the relationship between husband and wife, as well as other family relationships, including domestic partnerships.

The interrelationship and complexity of a family and its legal aspects encompass many other areas of law such as constitutional law, contract law, and property law, disability law, estate law, guardianship law, business law, farm law and financial issues.
After a person dies, ownership (the legal title) of his or her property, assets and personal effects must be passed on (legally transferred) to the beneficiaries (heirs) listed in the Will. If there is no will the persons receiving assets are designated by State law. The first step in probate is to verify the validity of the will and final dispositive statement of the decedent (the official record of the deceased person's final wishes).
Estate planning is the practice of law dealing with protection and disposition of a client's assets, whether during life, or upon and after death, in accordance with the client's desires and wishes. It involves a number of components, such as Trusts, Wills, and Probate Law. Administration of such important measure can prove tricky and burdensome to most people, as often wills can be misconstrued and outcomes could prove devastating.
