Ozarks Counseling Center
We currently provide individual, couple, family, and group counseling sessions with highly trained professional counselors. Mediation is a process where the parties meet with an impartial and neutral professional who helps them negotiate their differences. Ozarks Counseling Center provides comprehensive psychological testing for children, adolescents, and adults.

Perhaps you or your business would like to sponsor one of our fundraising events, such as our Not-So-Newlywed Game. Your sponsorship will earn certain benefits and recognition depending on your level of donation. Call the office for more information. Each year, individual and corporate donations, both large and small make up an important part of our budget.
Services
Ozarks Counseling Center originally formed in Springfield, Missouri in 1952 and was called the Greene County Child Guidance Clinic. It was the first child guidance clinic in the area and was established to treat emotional and behavioral problems of children. A few years later, the clinic began treating the parents of the children.
We currently provide individual, couple, family, and group counseling sessions. The counselor or counselors you will work with during these sessions are highly trained professionals who will discuss your issues in a compassionate, warm, and judgment-free environment. Your counselor will gather background information from you, find out what problems you want to address and work with you to develop a plan to meet your goals for change.
FOCIS (Focus on Children in Separation) is a parent education class that offers tools and support to any parent going through divorce, negotiating separation or re-negotiating a parenting plan. The purpose of FOCIS is to provide parents with information, skills, and tools to help in dealing with the complex issues involved in separation and divorce.
Our mission is to provide mental health services to the community regardless of ability to pay. Counseling fees are based on a sliding scale that takes into account gross annual income and household size. Our sliding scale fees range from a low of $10 to a high of $100 per session. If a fee quoted on the sliding scale is not affordable, we offer a grant program that may further reduce it.
Andrea originally completed her Master of Business Administration degree and eventually returned to Missouri State University to complete her Master of Clinical Psychology in 2009. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, and the Ozarks Counseling Centers Executive Director, Andrea serves many roles throughout the Springfield community.

This is the worst psychotherapy that I've ever received. No-one there including the clinical supervisor seemed to understand even basic clinical psychology. The counselor that I was given shoved EMDR down my throat, which is completely inappropriate for someone with my psychopathology. Their fees are extremely high for the incompetence and ineptitude of the counselors.

Wow! I cannot say enough good things about OCC. if you’ve never been to therapy before, I will say that finding the right fit for you may be trial and error — If you get plugged in and the therapist you’re with doesn’t quite “vibe” that’s okay. Let them know, they’re here to help.
Lots of people are seeking therapy so there might be a little wait, but don’t let that deter you from getting the mental and behavioral health support that you need.
They really do try their best here to meet your needs, as I’ve experienced myself.
The care from my therapist is obvious and genuine

Clarissa had no grace or forgiveness. They bungled my disability appeal. A poc who struggles with mental health dropped from their program on a whim. I felt Josh was unprofessional and very fake in this way. Go somewhere better they do not respect your privacy or safety.

Attending OCC has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. They are flexible and understanding of income status, personality fits, and ultimately are client centered. I have been with my therapist for about two years and have healed and learned so much. She was willing to adjust my therapy style to my needs and is always empathetic and resourceful. I have learned how to open up about my past and have been able to feel safe. The front desk has been accommodating and are kind to me no matter the situation I’m in. Thankful for this place

My family and I have appreciated the counselor's services we've seen in the past. However, the front desk who answers calls leaves a lot to be desired.

Fantastic.
I was recommended to seek out Kevin for my 10yr son.
Kevin has been working with my son for about 8 months and we already see a difference.
This was our second stop after Mercy's behavior center, and we are pleased with the switch.
I will be passing this place to any friends in need. They see adults and kids:)

I have been going here on & off for many years. The staff are always professional & friendly. I have recommended this facility to a number of individuals & would do so again. I truly feel the counselors/therapists are some of the finest in the area.

My counselor helped me get organized with all the things I have going on in my life including the death of my mother. After a few visits I felt comfortable with the changes and confident I could cheerfully embrace them. What an empowering experience!
