True Life Marriage & Family Counseling
Through my own marriage of 34 years and nearly just as many years counseling, I can show you the way. Give me a call for individual counseling, couples counseling, marriage counseling, marriage and family counseling, or speaking with a Christian marriage counselor. People seek counseling for all kinds of reasons, but communication and the inability to resolve conflict is the number one reason why people come to see me.

I have written extensively on the issue and developed a 6-step formula for resolving conflict and improving relationships. We call it PLEDGEtalk. Maybe you are thinking: I am not sure there is a whole lot wrong, but is this all there is? There's got to be more in life and in our marriage!. Research shows that couples who invest in pre-marital counseling go on to have stronger marriages.
Services
I grew up in Chicago area and went to Grace College and Seminary in Northern Indiana, where I found my wife and earned an MA degree in Biblical Counseling. I am blessed to be married to a wonderful woman named Zerrin (Turkish for: Golden Sunshine.) She is a great delight who provides significant support to me.
Each of us are on a journey through life. The Bible makes it clear that we have only so much time here on earth and that God's desire is to do a work in us much like a potter does with a piece of clay. He prepares us, centers us on the wheel, shapes us, trims off the excess, and fires up the pot. His goal is not only to make us into a beautiful piece of pottery but then to put us to use in His Kingdom and for the lives of others.
My fee for counseling is $85.00 per one hour session. I usually meet with people every week which averages about $340 a month OR for three weeks per month which comes to $255.00 per month. For some - especially those who are willing to do whatever it takes to get the help they need - they are fine with that.
I am currently coaching couples and individuals online in the use of PLEDGEtalk, a process we have developed to deepen communication and process conflict. In some cases, we simply use the phone, but with others, we use live audio/visual. It is a wonderful way I can help people who are not able to meet in person because of the driving distance.
One that I think should be asked by everyone seeking counseling. I have several suggestions. If you were referred to me by someone you know, simply ask them why they recommended me. Have they personally been helped by me in some way? Read through our website, jot down any questions or concerns you might have that are not answered.

Mr. Oelze is probably a good counselor for average marriage problems, but was not at all helpful for my husband and I. First of all, he was consistently 10 minutes late to every session, with no explanation or apology. Then he would ask questions, snork thoughtfully (probably allergies), then just sit, creating a truly awkward situation. We spent much more time sitting and waiting than getting good counseling. We went for quite a few sessions, determined to get needed help, but got absolutely no good counsel. My husband and I agreed we were wasting our money irresponsibly, so we stopped going.

We sought Mark's help when facing some overwhelming challenges in our marriage and family. I honestly didn't see how our marriage, or I myself, would survive. From the start, I was impressed how he listened with discernment, never "taking sides", but always encouraging us to look to God's perspective. Mark never gave up on us as we struggled to face the root of the problem, journeying with us and offering counsel to help us avoid additional pitfalls.
I have seen God work through Mark's counsel to help me grow in a deeper understanding of my role in my marriage. As he has helped me to learn to
