Services
Couples Counseling: I use the latest research and my extensive couples counseling experience to help couples stabilize, enrich, strengthen, and enjoy their relationship. Solution-Focused & Narrative Therapy for Individuals, Couples and Families: I use strength-based, solution-focused therapy and narrative therapy.
I have been providing therapy for individuals, couples and families since 1994. I received a master's degree in Social Work in 1993 from Washington University in St. Louis, and received a master's degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Colorado State University in 1996.
In a culture in which only 50% of first marriages and 40% of second marriages survive, truly effective couples counseling can help couples heal relationship distress and prevent divorce. Finally in recent years, useful and accurate data has surfaced about what keeps couples together. I use this research and my extensive couples counseling experience to help couples stabilize, enrich, strengthen, and enjoy their relationship.
Solution focused therapy involves helping you determine exactly how you'd like your life to change, and then helping you get there using strengths and experiences you already have. How will you know when you are doing x, what exactly will you be doing differently from what you are currently doing?.
I believe that what is occurring in your relationships, work place, community, etc. has a great effect on your emotional well-being. Consequently, as we work together I will want to look at how these aspects of your life are affecting you. Also, I may want to meet with family members or significant others together with you.

Truly wonderful. Made me feel safe and heard, helped me make sense of a relationship in crisis, guided me through longstanding issues with clarity and compassion, and nurtured me to independence again instead of lifelong therapy. I can't say enough good things about the therapist or the place.
