David Erikson and Rick Osterdyk started from small and simple means back in 2001 to create R & D Engineering and Machine. As a small business, it was their goal to create a company that serviced the booming medical device market in the Minnesota area.

Our professional team members offer full installation services including set-up, calibrations, preventative maintenance schedules, recommended spare parts, and process validation. Our installation and quality teams are familiar with ISO-13485, Installation Qualification (IQ) requirements and can be contracted to perform compliant installations.
The Cath-Tech Family of catheter manufacturing equipment covers a wide range of catheter manufacturing processes. Cath-Tech machines can be purchased off-the-shelf or customized to your specific process requirements. We take the time to ensure that all of the requirements are identified upfront and integrated into the design phase of your build.
At R&D Engineering, we use a signature convection heating process that provides superior results. The Cath-Tech Reflow machine is designed to support your catheter production with more consistency, increase overall production while at the same time cutting down on scrap and operator involvement. The Cath-Tech Reflow machine creates uniform tubing for all of your catheter assembly pieces.
The assembly process involves a cutting process from your extruded tubing and can be cut to a variety of sizes and within certain tolerances. These may need to be accomplished before any pieces enter the assembly process. We've automated the cutting process to make assembly easier and streamlined. The V-Block cutter ensures a more precise circumferential cut, around each tubing segment.
