If you are a victim or witness to a crime, you need to immediately report it to the police. If it is an emergency situation, retreat to a safe location and dial 9-1-1. In a non-emergency situation, you need to contact the police department where the offense took place using the department's non-emergency telephone number.
The Lake County Prosecutor's Office Administrative Staff members work in a variety of areas to provide critical support to all legal, scientific, and clerical support staff members.

Administrative staff work closely with the Prosecuting Attorney to implement office-wide policies in a consistent fashion – the goal being to foster an attitude of team work and multi-divisional support to address work flow and personnel related issues and concerns.
The Lake County Prosecutor's Office represents the State of Ohio in all felony criminal cases set for trial in each of the four Lake County Common Pleas General Division Courts. The Office also provides legal assistance and advice to all Lake County law enforcement agencies, 24 hours a day, and assists these agencies in the preparation of search warrants.
In addition to Aggravated Murder and Murder, there are 5 degrees of felonies, ranging from a Felony of the Fifth Degree, which is the least serious felony charge, up to a Felony of the First Degree, which is the most serious charge short of murder.

An Aggravated Murder committed under certain circumstances can be punished by a death sentence or it may result in the lesser penalties of a life sentence without possibility of parole or with parole possible after serving 30, 25, or 20 years.
The Lake County Prosecutor's Office, Child Support Enforcement Division, contributes to the well being of children through the establishment of paternity and the establishment and enforcement of court-ordered child support and medical support obligations.

The Assistant Prosecutor represents the State of Ohio/Lake County Department of Job and Family Services/Child Support Enforcement Agency, and no attorney-client relationship exists between the Assistant Prosecutor and any individual party.No party can initiate an action directly with the Lake County Prosecutor's Office.
