My name is Roddy Chung and I'm a wedding and portrait photographer based in Seattle, WA. My style is often described as timeless, creative, documentary with some fine art and dramatic twist. I picked up my first DSLR during my freshman year in college. I took this class called "Fundamentals of Photography."
Being a resourceful son, I shamelessly asked my dad for a camera and convinced him that "it was required for a class." To tell you the truth, I didn't learn much about the basics of photography from that class. If I took anything away from that class, it was that I knew my camera and I would become inseparable.

I'm a wedding photographer based out of Seattle and also serving Bellingham, Portland and Eastern Washington. This gallery represents a variety of couple sessions I have photographed throughout different locations in the Greater Seattle area. Engagement sessions are important because not a lot of couples or even individuals have gotten their pictures done professionally.

Roddy photographed our wedding and was awesome to work with from the beginning! When we met for the first time, he wanted to know the story of our relationship and get to understand us and our style. On our wedding day, he was great with the bridal party and the groomsmen— captured incredible shots. Our favorite parts about his photos are the drama and the classic/ timeless perspective he has behind the lens! The print quality and albums are absolutely beautiful. I’d highly recommend Roddy, and we hope he’ll be our photographer for years to come.

Roddy is an amazing photographer with a great eye. We wanted to do our engagement photoshoot in the mountains and Roddy was extremely accommodating and provided helpful advice on location and lighting. During the shoot, he interacted with us, gave us direction and made us felt at ease. On the day, we only had limited time before sunset and had to avoid pedestrians around the park, but Roddy was able to navigate around everything skillfully and always found the perfect shot.

We had the pleasure of having Roddy as our wedding photographer and it was best decision we could have made by far! From the very beginning, Roddy went above and beyond for us and always made us feel comfortable during our shoots. Roddy was the first and only photographer we reached out to for our engagement/ pre-wedding photos and he really did an amazing job. He was super easy to work with. Roddy goes above and beyond! He is dedicated in his work and puts in so much effort in taking the best shot possible. We couldn't have asked for more. We were clueless as to what location and poses to make but Roddy took initiative and gave us so many ideas and suggestions. We were worried our awkwardness would show on camera but Roddy's outgoing and fun personality got us warmed up and our sessions felt like we were just hanging out with a friend. We were very lucky to have Roddy take our engagement photos. I decided to reach out to him after checking his portfolio on his website and Instagram. I just moved to Seattle area before our wedding, so I was clueless to the location for the wedding shoot, but he was very attentive to my questions and able to work around with our schedule. Roddy was so great to work with! We picked him because we loved how much action and fun drama he captured in his shots. He was patient while we worked through some of the questions we had up front and was very quick with communication and making sure he had all of the information he needed to capture the wedding. We used his photo station set up and our guests LOVED it! The pictures that came out of it were priceless.

Roddy was freaking fantastic. He went above and beyond for my husband and I throughout the entire wedding process, and was more than adaptive to our random whims. On the wedding day itself, Roddy and his assistant went out of their way to make life less stressful for us. I cannot say enough about how much we appreciated them both!
