Explore our dental services for more information. Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth.
This is used to fill in narrow grooves in a tooth that cannot be adequately cleaned by brushing. In some cases, the tooth structure has fine grooves or pits which accumulate plaque, not because the person doesn't brush, but because they're too narrow to allow even one bristle into them. These will develop cavities over time, and you don't want that.
The gums, ligaments, and bone around the teeth form the foundation for ones teeth. All structures are also referred to as the periodontium. When the periodontium is not healthy, it jeopardizes the teeth just as a bad foundation would threaten the stability of a house.
Signs of unhealthy periodontium (gum disease) may be as follows: gums that are red and bleed easily, persistent bad breath, gums that are pulled away from the tooth, loose teeth, and changes in the position or bite of the teeth.Any of these signs may mean something is wrong. With the proper care, however, it may be possible to return them to a healthy state.

This can be anything done to correct imperfections in the appearance of the mouth. Anyone who is unhappy with their smile can have it fixed. The upper teeth show, usually, only when smiling, while the lower teeth remain hidden. This is reversed when talking, with the upper teeth remaining hidden while the lower teeth show.

We count ourselves very fortunate to be patients of the Murphy's. Whether it's been for a cleaning or an urgent dental matter, everyone in the office is kind and professional. Dr. Kevin has been particularly good to me, helping me though several different dental issues. The Murphy's office is highly recommended.

DrJohn and Dr Kevin along with their entire staff are wonderful people to work with! From cleanings, to fillings, to crowns, I have had it all and never a complaint in the last 46 years I started going their. Their office is beautiful and very clean! I would recommend them to anyone!

We’ve been going to Murphy Family Dentistry since we moved to the Lansing area in 2016. My wife and I have had nothing but pleasant experiences here. Each of the hygienists does a great job and both Dr. Kevin and Dr. John are personable but efficient. The whole cleaning experience usually takes under 30 minutes which I really appreciate.

From the relaxed environment, to the high tech equipment, to the fantastic hygienists and dentists, I’ve never been more excited to go to my dental appointments. The service is also fantastic - I have never waited more than 10 minutes for my appointment time, and have always been notified of cancellations and every available appointment slot to find appointment times that are most convenient for me. I actually live out of state at the moment, but I still schedule appointments with Murphy whenever I’m going to be back in Michigan rather than hunting for an okay or bad

My visits with the Murphy Family Dentistry are always pleasant, professional, and thorough. All the procedures get done in a very patient friendly, and expeditious way. You are made to feel quite comfortable. All the staff is professional and very courteous. Dr. Kevin is a very caring and engaging man.

My first real dental experience, aside from semi-annual cleaning, in sixty years. Dr. Kevin Murphy was extremely proficient. The work was done in less than a half hour, while I had imagined multiple appointments would be required to repair or replace my broken tooth. I have to admit that I actually enjoyed, and learned from the experience, Bravo!

Cannot recommend Dr. Murphy higher! Great guy and great dentist. I have been to other dentists in Lansing but none compare to him. Does great work and doesn't try to up the bill with unneeded work. Office staff is great and he always has a great story to share - ask him about the hole in one!
