Services
Don and Lois started Krzysiak's House Restaurant in 1979 when they purchased a local Tavern known as Big Dan's Bar. They had a dream of opening a restaurant which served home cooked food with a European flair at a reasonable price. Today, their dream is being fulfilled as Krzysiak's House Restaurant has become one of the most famous in the area.
Our banquet dining rooms can accommodate your party of any size. Our banquet staff is ready to make your dining experience memorable. We have been providing great food and service in the Tri-City area for 30 years, whether your party is a quiet gathering with friends or a large office party. Our dining rooms can accommodate small weddings or large showers.
Let us cater your event. Offering a large variety of standard or customizable trays, we have a little something for everybody. And if you're unable to pick it up, we deliver anywhere within a 25 mile radius of Bay City. Krzysiak's House Restaurant is the perfect venue for large gatherings. Comfortably seating up to 150 people, our newly remodeled dining rooms are ideal for family reunions, receptions, funerals, and more.
Krzysiak's Famous Frozen Kluski Noodles taste like homemade noodles (or dumplings) because that is what they are. Our Kluski noodles are made with the highest quality Semolina & Durham wheat flours and fresh pasteurized eggs. Our noodles are processed using a European machine-process that "laminates" the dough.

Called the store to see if they had a breakfast buffet. Yes. It's closing in half an hour. Arrive 15 minutes later. We're not serving it anymore, we're getting ready for lunch (as they're taking eggs back into the kitchen.. we were starving).
Never going back, never suggesting this place again.

Great place. Didn't know was there till a friend of a friend my wife and I about it. The buffet is great, and we always get the uncooked sausage from the back. Yum.

I was actually very excited to eat here for the first time after seeing all the pictures of it on Facebook. The pictures make it look way better than it looks in person. The staff was very nice but the food left a lot to be desired. There isn't enough room in the buffet area for as many people that were there either. The food was frequently out at the buffet as well but they were pretty fast at filling it back up. I would give it another try but I was not impressed.

Wait to Order: (5 of 5)
-Check In... Walked into the building and seated immediately.
-Waitstaff... The waiter came over right as we were seated and asked what our drink orders where and gave us menus.

Restaurant Cleanliness: (4 of 5)
-Building... The outside of the building was old but decorated with some nice Polish murals. The inside also felt a bit dated but was clean.
-Table... The tables were older but clean.
-Bathroom... Clean

Atmosphere: (4 of 5)

Pretty good authentic food. Buffet was clean and seemed to be stocked at a decent frequency where nothing was left out too long as to be dried out. You won't be disappointed. 4 stars only because they are a bit limited and I've had better polish foods in some other places.

What can be said about Krzysiak's? It is a venerable comfort food bastion that lives up to the nostalgia. Having come here since a child, back in the 80s, eating here feels like eating at grandma's house. Polish/German cuisine at it's finest... sauerkraut, sausage, fried fish, mashed potatoes and a salad bar with creamed herring and a variety of cured/dried meats... My mother's family is all German but I can't tell the difference between the cuisines... Polish/German... whatever! Alles ist wunderbar. My brother was visiting and desired Krzysiaks, which is a testament to this restaurant. He had

Incredible portions!
“It was delicious “- our 9 year old daughter said. Her favorites were the soup and the chicken tenders.
The polish potatoes and pierogi were both my husband and my favorite, we both had the polish platter. Took a lot of food home after sampling and loving all of it. I really enjoyed the cabbage rolls. We came in with high expectations and we were not disappointed.

Service was simple and warm. She brought us extra napkins. Food was very homemade tasting. You get a buffet of various things turkey, chicken, mashed potatoes, clams, shrimp, goulash, polish sausage and kraut. You get soup and salad and dessert with the buffet all for $20. Underrated.

True authentic Polish dining.
It was like my wife's grandma used to make every year for Christmas. Delicious!
The Golabki, Pierogi, and Polish Sausage & kraut were all amazing. We all ordered the buffet in order to try everything. Their fish fry was as good as any I've had back in Wisconsin and they take their fish fries seriously.
Will be back the next time I'm in Bay City.

And apparently the management does not give a crap about customer service, because they have failed to reach out and contact me after I have left my number several times. Obviously they don't care about regular customers or new customers or return customers for that matter!

Good polish variety. Comfort food like Mom made. Not quite as good as Poletown down in Hamtramck but worth checking out. Enjoy.

We were a little worried given some of the scathing reviews, but we were very very pleased. We ordered the honey fried chicken and the polish platter. Chicken noodle soup is delicious and I'm certain would cure the common cold. You get to set your own noodle ratio since there are noodles on the salad bar.
Polish ale was an easy drinking light stout like beer. Yum.
Creamed herring was some of the best ever had- it's true. Cole slaw was wonderful. Horseradish is on the bar too so you can make your own cocktail sauce for the peel and eat shrimp.
Polish platter was fantastic. We are polish

We stopped in on 1-26-19 for dinner. We called ahead to see what was on the buffet and what the difference was. The person who answered didn't even know. But when she said crab legs, we thought we were in for a treat. If there were a negative star, I would give it the highest negative. I wanted to leave the minute the server came to the table. She never gave eye contact, never introduced herself, did not say hello or thank us for stopping in. Don't even know her name. She dropped one menu down, (must be a shortage in this fine establishment) went straight for the "would you like

This is quantity over quality! The food is greasy and bland and the service is horrible! We arrived on a Saturday evening. We were serviced by 3 different servers as we were told our initial server had to now service the Princess Winona.
The buffet which has a lot of greasy food choices is $21.95. We ordered 3 of the polish platters in which they ran out of traditional pierogies and had to substitute the breakfast and taco pierogies which were disgusting! What type of polish restaurant runs out of pierogies?!
We sat and sat and sat and sat for 30 minutes as we waited for our entrees to be brought

The best way to get value for money here is through the Saturday morning buffet. $8.99 for hot foods, salad bar, and even a dessert bar complete with soft serve ice cream.

I've been to Poland and I have a little understanding of the cuisine, so I was sort of confused when I saw the buffet. There was a lot of fried chicken, fried fish(?), and brown green beans. Maybe that's to appeal to the American crowd? I did spot some of the dishes that I expected; pierogi, sausages, sauerkraut, and kopytka. The salad bar was standard but with the addition of what seemed like herring.

I enjoyed

This is about as good as you're going to get for authentic Polish food, and that is coming from a guy who comes from a Polish family and heads to Hamtramck about once a month. The pierogi and kraut are on point, and the rest of the buffet holds it own.

The one surprise was their "orange chicken legs": think of that amazing orange chicken from your favorite Chinese place... Deep fried, covered in this mystery orange sauce (the one that tastes amazing but you never want to read the nutrition label). It's that. But the whole chicken leg. Mind blown.

To the people complaining

Visit the area with family and try this restaurant. Definitely not worth it. Taste and value are disaapointing. Orders polish platters and Buffet. Polish platter with too much carbs - fried potato, pierogies potato filling, and potato pancake plus some other decent polish varieties (sausage sauerkraut, cabbage meat, ham). Buffet $19.99 per person on Saturday (meat and seafood) with many deep fried selections (fish, frog legs, chicken, calm strip,....etc), crab legs, sausage with sauerkraut, pierogies. Also, includes salad bars and soup. Selections are quiet varieties and good. But for taste
