No - This is called "steering" and it is illegal. The insurance company can refer you to a shop ONLY if you ask them to. Some insurance companies have Direct Repair Programs (DRPs) which can save the insurance company money but are not always in the best interest of the consumer. The body shop guarantees the work, not the insurance company.
Get your car fixed 100% to it's pre-accident condition or get paid it's full market value, if the cost to fix it is more than the market value (a "total"). Choose your own body shop - you do not have to accept the adjuster's estimate of repair or go to the shop the insurance company tells you to go to.
Even if you receive paid sick leave from your job, you are entitled to these damages - you work hard for these types of benefits and you have the right to be fully compensated for them. These damage are related to the nature and extent of your injuries and the amount of medical treatment you receive.
No - Again, it is not required by law and can help the insurance company to gather evidence the can use against you. Yes, you can. A qualified accident attorney can help you find a doctor who specializes in treating car accident victims. If medically necessary, yes, but your doctor must authorize this in writing - that will help you get compensated fairly.

Worst attorney I have ever hired and u truly regret it. He took over two years to settle case and waited until to much time had past to tell me he's dropping my case. If your looking for an attorney that will fight for you and and defend you to the the best of his ability he is an precrasting aweful attorney. Your money would be better spent elsewhere.

I have referred many clients to Attorney Don Patterson, and they all have been very satisfied. He is the rare attorney that will get on the phone to talk directly to clients, and not just pass it on to his support staff. He gets bills and records from the doctors immediately after they finish their treatment, and continually gets very good settlement in just a few months, and not years.
If you need attorney services you can feel very comfortable hiring Mr Patterson to handle your case!
