One of my earliest photography memories comes from a trip to Washington, DC to spend a week with my cousins. As a kid, I was overly interested in my surroundings and in documenting them. Because of this, I ended up taking an entire roll of film (yes, 35mm FILM) of the Washington Monument. I captured the northern face from 200 yards away, 100 yards away, 50 yards away, you get the picture.
The same thing happened with the south, east, and west faces. I snapped shots of the bottom half, the top half, and the flags surrounding it. I think I had done a school report on it or something. Anyway. When I got the photos developed, my father-an avid photographer himself-sat me down, and we had a conversation that would change the course of my photography forever.

If you love the curled up, cuddly, look of new babies, it is best to plan your session within the first ten days of your new baby's life. Of course, your session can take place after the first ten days, your baby will just be a little less curled up and a little more alert! All newborn sessions take place either in the comfort and convenience of your own home or outside.
The very best way to photograph kids is to photograph them while they're doing what they do best: being kids! Your session will include lots of play, laughter, and conversation, with snack, drink, and hug breaks. A favorite stuffed animal, doll, or toy is often a comfort to younger children who may be a little nervous.
Your session will be relaxed, fun, and enjoyable for the whole family! We will take a combination of posed and lifestyle photos, using a number of different backgrounds within the location of your choice. During your family session, we will walk, talk, play, you will go about your normal family interactions, and I will snap away.
Maternity photos capture such a magical time in life! Maternity sessions may take place either in your home or at another location of your choice. The recommended time frame for scheduling your maternity session is between 30 and 34 weeks. Typically, this is when your belly is getting nice and round and adorable.
Senior year in high school is a landmark year! For many, it's the end of an era and the beginning of a life of independence and being a true blue grownup. If you have a deadline at school for turning in a senior photo, you'll want to plan your session at least a month prior to the deadline to ensure plenty of time for editing and then choosing your favorite photo!
