Massage A La Carter
A basic, full body massage designed to relax muscle tissue, to relieve stress, and to improve circulation. Heated basalt stones are used in conjunction with traditional massage strokes to deliver a deep warming massage. Sustained compression of trigger points and manipulation of the connective tissue, or fascia, relieves chronic pain and improves range of motion.

A combination of stretching and massage techniques designed to aid the athlete (pre or post event) and to address sports related pain or injury. Massage has been recognized by ancient and modern sciences as an essential component to cultivating optimal health and well-being. Massage enhances a life-supporting harmony between mind and body and provides essential therapy in the treatment of recurring pain and a host of chronic conditions.

Laura is a Pittsburgh native who has been practicing massage therapy for 22 years. After graduating from NYU in political science, Laura did her initial massage training in Pittsburgh then continued her studies at the Heartwood Institute in the mountains of Northern California. She then practiced massage for 9 years at a number of spas in and around Los Angeles.
The therapist delivers this massage with her feet as you lie comfortably on the massage table. Long gliding strokes delivered with consistent, broad pressure provide a deep, soothing experience. Ayurvedic massage, or Abhyanga, is a 5,000 year-old form of bodywork in which two synchronized therapists massage the body with liberal amounts of heated oils, blended to your individual constitution.
Ayurveda, the "science of life" from ancient India, prescribes a regimen of practices including lifestyle changes, a balancing diet, cleansing rituals and essential massage. It is considered to be the sister science to yoga. The Ayurvedic system aims to reestablish the body's natural ability to heal and to align itself with the rhythms of nature, facilitating recovery for those suffering from diseases or chronic imbalances.

Laura's space is easy, relaxed and therapeutic. She holds space for clients in the space they are. Her touch is just deep enough without being painful. Her intuition is remarkable. She sees her clients as healthy and pain free and this allows her clients to see themselves the same way. Her office is conveniently located with free parking outside.
