Pretty good shop, a little hard to find, but almost competent work and they will only try to screw you over once every couple years. When they do decide to screw you over, though, they really pull out all the stops. They tried to tell me I needed 1,200 worth of work done on my ABS system, so I took it elsewhere and it only cost about $250, and have not had any problems in the 2 years since.

Took my car to this place to get a diagnostic for my car. They told me that my front rotors were too thick, my brake pads needed to be reconditioned and my tires needed to be rebalanced. Total cost of estimate they gave me was $680. I said okay let's get it fixed. Couple hours later I get a call again saying that my calipers were no good and needed to be changed out too. They priced me for labor and parts at $1200!!!! On top of the 680 I already had to pay. Due to not having the money I just payed them for my rotors. Went to Napa to buy my own calipers it cost me $132 and a friend changed

KEVIN ,YOU DID ALOT OF GOOD WORK ,BRAKES, TRANSMISSION,OIL SERVICE....HOWEVER YOU MISDIAGNOSED THE STARTING ISSUE AND YOU CHARGED MY WIFE AND I APPROXIMATELY 1300.FOR A REPAIR THAT MADE ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE TO OUR PROBLEM...OTHER THEN IN THE TYME OF THE PANDEMIC YOU TOOK 1300.FOR A REPAIR THAT DID NOT NEED TO BE DONE...THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE FUEL PUMP ETC THAT YOU REPLACED...FOR ME ITS NOT THAT YOU DID THIS ,MISDIAGNOSIS CAN HAPPEN,,,WHAT DISSAPOINTS MY WIFE N I IS THE FACT THAT YOU NEVER LIVED UP TO YOUR MISTAKE,IN FACT YOU NEVER EVEN MENTIONED IT .YOU NEVER TOOK RESPONSIBILITY FOR

Complete scammers - told me my battery was dead and charged me 176 for a new generic battery and when I got home the truck wouldn't start had to jump the "new" battery everytime and also my blinkers and electrical was off - luckily I kept the old battery that Kevin said was dead. I put the old battery in the truck and bam it started right up and didn't need a jump had both batteries tested at sears and was told my old one was fine and new one was a garbage battery not even rated for the truck. I called Kevin and he dodged me for a week then had someone tell me they only do paper check returns one

Both Kevin and Hanna, proprietors of Kevin's Auto & Truck Repair, treat you like family. Both my wife and I have taken our vehicles to Kevin's for repairs and general maintenance and are extremely satisfied with the quality and workmanship they provided.
Additional to my bad starter, I had thought that I needed to have my transmission fluid and filter changed, and they indicated that it was just fine and not necessary at this time.
For those looking for an automotive mechanic here in Hilo Hawaii, I found them to be very honest, reasonably priced and only repairing what was actually needed. They'll have our future business!

Went to Kevin's for a safety check.
Kevin told me my head lights were not DOT approved, he was right and that I needed to replace them. I thought I could do it myself, after thinking on it, I realized I had better let Kevin's do it.
I brought the head lights and hardware to Kevin's for install. The price for installing the lights I brought in came to 294.00 just for labor. OK. When it came time to use my newly installed lights they shined every place except on the road.
I came back to Kevin's the next day and explained that the lights he installed need to be adjusted
