We will also go over diet, preventative medicine, and exercise to ensure that your pet is as healthy as possible.

I went to three vets (my usual, an emergency facility, and south dixie), and Dr. Cunningham was able to perform nothing short of a surgical miracle.

Cold laser therapy is a state-of-the-art alternative therapy to assist with pain and healing. It can be used after surgeries to help increase blood flow to local areas, improving healing. For this same reason, it is also helpful for wound healing. Cold laser therapy can also be used for chronic pain, helping to increase blood flow to those areas.
Can you imagine what your teeth would look like if you never brushed them? It's no different for cats and dogs, though many pet owners don't pay very much attention to their pets' dental health. Bad breath and dirty teeth are unappealing, but many pet owners aren't aware that these may be indicators of gum disease that can spread to the kidney, heart, and liver.

Dr. Cunningham and South Dixie Animal Hospital are the only place we trust to take care of our babies. We were blessed to find Dr. Cunningham over a decade ago after adopting a dog and being given her location for our free check up. We never thought that would start the incredible journey that we have been on since. My wife and I are prone to taking in dogs that are “medically needy“ and the only reason we feel comfortable doing so is because we know we have the skill and knowledge of Dr. Cunningham and SDAH to take care of them.

I’ve had it with South Dixie Animal Hospital. There have been too many negative incidents, I feel I must post a warning comment. First, when bringing my small dog in for a routine checkup and vaccines, during Covid when I could not bring him into the office, he was abruptly taken out of my arms from my car, frightening both him and me. Second, during a teeth cleaning, apparently while under anesthesia, they trimmed every single one of his nails below the quick to the point of bleeding. He was in pain and limping for days. Unconscionable negligence that will now be costing me multiple $1,000s of dollars to fix. They were supposed to chip a pet of mine for international travel and said they had found she already had one implanted. Then after all the travel was confirmed, apartments set up, thousands of dollars spent they say she doesn’t have a microchip anymore when… it was time to do the certification. A literal impossibility, a total scam, and then had the nerve to still charge for “services rendered”. I will now be without my first dog ever who has seen my wife and I get married, is now

We took our beloved dog there and were strongly advised to get his teeth cleaned. We brought him in a week later. Healthy, happy and the love of our life. He never came home. “Something happened” to a perfectly healthy, 6 year old love. The word devastation doesn’t come close to the pain we still feel. Think very hard before you have your dogs’ teeth cleaned here...you may never see them again and have your heart broken...like us.

Dr. Cunningham and her team are the best! Both knowledgeable and passionate, you can tell they truly love what they do. Dr. Cunningham treats all of her patients as if they were her own pet, takes the time to discuss everything with you, listens to your concerns and does everything in her power to have a positive and healthy outcome for your… animal. She’s so smart, kind, warm and patient. I would never go to any other vet. She has given me so many more years with my dog because of her dedication to his health and I am forever grateful to her. 💕🐾

Dr Kristen Cunningham is the most loving and caring vet I have ever known ! She has taken care of all our fur babies from day 1. We just had to put our Harley kitty to sleep today and she stood right there and cried with us also holding him. she made a very hard day, a little easier. we love our vet!! Staff is just as awesome . ..I would highly recommend South Dixie Animal hospital to anyone who wants there pets cared for with compassion and love

The most wonderful doctors, staff and 4 legged helpers at this special Vet. Clinic/Hospital. Every time we are shown the most friendly smiles, time is taken to answer and care for all concerns, plus they stress to call if we need anything. Dr Cunningham has been caring for my furry kids for almost 10 years. Not only is she incredibly intelligent and an amazing surgeon, she is one of the most compassionate and caring human beings I’ve ever known.… You will never have to wonder if your pet is getting the best care if you bring them to her practice. Exceptional support staff and elite diagnostics are just an added bonus!
