Vicks service is the best repair facility in the area, I have brought my cars to them for years and have never been disappointed. I have read others negative reviews about hidden charges like towing fees and so on, this has never been the case for me or any others that I have personally sent there, all costs are up front and no unauthorized repairs are made without customer approval. The facility is clean, pleasant and the customer service is excellent. I highly recommend this facility to any one with any repair needs, you will not be disappointed.

I can not say enough good things about Vics Service…they are kind, problem solving miracle workers!! We were stranded by a flat tire that we could not repair…they fit us in to a very tight schedule and fixed our tire so we could continue our trip!! It’s not often you find people like this any more we feel very lucky!! I can tell you this if I lived in Oneonta NY we would bring our vehicles to them for all servicing!! Thank you so much!!!

Vic's has serviced our vehicles four times in the past few months, and today will be the last. Despite their motto being "Your Satisfaction is Our #1 Priority", their customer service is awful, they do not stand by their work, and they hit you with charges without informing you in advance.
My review is lengthy because I think it's important to share the details and not just submit a review blindly complaining. I realize a lot of people complain about mechanics, so I want to share our experience so you can gauge the severity for yourself.

Super friendly and helpful place--I showed up Friday afternoon in dire straights and the friendly people at Vic's found time to squeeze me in. We weren't able to make all the repairs before the shop closed for the weekend (I had to make a long drive downstate the next day), but they fixed me up well enough and and gave me assurance that my car was drivable until I got back to my hometown shop. Thank you so much for your excellent customer oriented service--I will be back the next time I need auto service in the area!

Earlier today my husband and I had brought our Prius in to the shop. They communicated with us through updates after we dropped it off and were very friendly. Later on in the day when we stopped in to check in on our car, they found out we were walking and had to still pick up our son from school. They then offered us a lender car until ours was done so that way we could safely and warmly get our sons from the school and back home. Very kind workers and wonderful service. Thankful to have such a great shop near to our home!

Excellent service , in a car repair shop, never experienced before. The place is CLEAN, organized and so professional. Mike, I believe, promptly attended to the issue that my car had and even recommended a place for me and my father in law to grab breakfast while attending to my car. I would highly recommend this place to anyone having issues with their car or even to fill up gas.

Firstly, the front desk needs to work on communication with clients. Practicing a few common courtesy phrases would be a great start.
Secondly, something weird is going on with their NYS inspection procedure, based on my two attempts to inspect my car there.
A year or two ago I brought in a car to be inspected, and they announced it would not pass inspection, mentioning some obscure and inconsequential reason. They charged me money for the inspection, though. Next day I brought my car to another local shop, and the car passed the inspection without problems. The

I've been going for years but lately I've been thinking about going somewhere else. Mechanics are ok ok but the overall experience is poorer because the women who works the front desk. She's rude, unfriendly, and unprofessional.
I've had a few unpleasant encounters with her to point I had to speak to her boss because she was basically yelling at me over the phone.

Vic's Auto Service is the only repair shop in all of New York that I bring my car too. They make an experience that is always stressful and aggravating into a very easy, doable process. They bring me in and show me whats wrong with my car and explain to me what my options are, how much, and how long, and work together with me to choose the best option. Their repairs are always quick and efficient and I won't hesitate to continue ONLY using their services. Rohanie is extremely knowledgeable and was able to help me forecast my next few repairs and configure how/when to come back. Overall

Will NEVER come back. For a several years I've periodically brought my cars in, and always felt like I was being taken advantage of. I recently brought my car in for an inspection and they 'failed' me and gave me a huge list of things wrong with my car. As soon as I said I would take it to another mechanic the politeness abruptly ended and I was shooed me off. As it turns out, I brought it to another mechanic...and it passed. Also, Vic's must've panicked when I left because they reported to the DMV that my car actually passed inspection...even though I was told it failed
