Our Mission: We strive to provide superior medical care to our patients while nurturing relationships professionally and compassionately, at all times. Dr. Arthur Serwitz is the founder of Riverview Animal Clinic. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, and grew up in Richmond, Virginia.
He received his Bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech in 1966, and was accepted into the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine, completing his Doctorate in 1970.After graduation, "Doc" lived in Israel for a year, traveling, studying, and working on farms raising turkeys, growing tomatoes, working orchards, milking cows, beekeeping, and practicing veterinary medicine on some of the local pets.

Like human medicine, veterinary medicine has evolved from treating disease to the prevention of disease. Since our pets age much more quickly than we do, these exams should be conducted a minimum of 1-2 times a year. This allows us to find and correct smaller issues before they broaden, identify risk factors like obesity and dental disease and develop programs to control these issues.
Unfortunately, when our pets aren't feeling well, they cannot speak to tell us what's bothering them. These tools allow us to delve deeper and learn what's going on inside your pet's body so that we can quickly identify, diagnose and treat potential problems in a timely manner. Riverview Animal Clinic has a fully equipped laboratory to help quickly diagnose problems as they may arise.
At Riverview Animal Clinic, we understand that bringing your pet in for surgery, no matter how routine, can be a stressful time for both of you. That's why we strive to make each and every surgical procedure as stress-free as possible. Our doctors are well-versed in all the most modern veterinary surgical techniques and are experienced in delivering high quality care to each patient they serve.

I drove an hour to bring my rat to Riverview, all of the exotic vets in my area were closed and he unfortunately got a cat bite. Dr. Kerlin is by far the best vet I've seen since living here, she looked over Sushi (my rat), and was very realistic about his condition. He's now on two medications, and critical care omnivore and seems to be perking up. I would recommend them pretty highly to any one with exotics.

Took a long time to get in and out but doctors were informative and kind. I appreciate the options I was given when it came to preventative care of my elderly rabbit. I was able to bring in my cat and my rabbit in the same day and get checkups and shots in one visit

The vet and assistants are fantastic!! I can’t say enough positive things about them and the treatment of my puppy. 🙂
They’re patient, upbeat, and kind to the animals. You can tell they enjoy what they do. Everyone took their time, answered all of my questions, and did a thorough exam. I recommend this vet office 100%!!!

Excellent care, services. The Dr's are a five. The technicians, front desk, all very good. They have a phone app. It's a top shelf Vet and man do you pay for it. That's why 4 stars. Crazy expensive. You won't walk out of there for under 100 for anything and 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 hundred bucks isn't unusual. If you can manage that the animal expertise and experience when there is good

First, the HOURS are unbeatable. It gives me so much peace of mind to know that I have options if anything happens on the weekend. Still, none of that would matter if the staff wasn’t good, and they’ve been amazing! Dr. Dodger is so kind and knowledgeable, and she took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly. Everything about the clinic is so convenient, and they make me feel so valued as a client! Highly recommend taking your pet here :)
