This includes paying Child Support. In the state of Texas, Texas Family Code has guideline percentages which apply to the first $9,200.00 of the non-custodial parent's monthly net resources. If the child has proven special needs, then additional support may be warranted. The non-custodial parent is the parent that the child does not reside with most of the time.
Custody should be based on what is in the child's best interests, not the parents best interest. It is often difficult to distinguish between the two when you are in the midst of what can become an ugly divorce battle. This is why you hire a good attorney, who can keep a level head and guide you through the issues and help you determine what is in the best interest of the children.
Divorce is one of the most stressful things that a person must deal with. Divorce is like a death without the option of having a burial and a memorial service, and if you have children with your spouse, then you still have to find a way to co-parent and get along with that person for what could be years.
What happens when your ex violates court orders repeatedly? If you feel as if you have tried every avenue to co-parent with your ex and they continue to disregard the decree that the judge has entered for your divorce it could mean it is time to enforce the decree.
A divorce decree is not just a binding legal document, it is a court order, and one party's failure to comply with certain terms of the decree can give rise to a legal cause of action, or a law suit, to enforce the court's order.Failure to respond to an enforcement action can have serious negative consequences - including fines, changes to the divorce decree in favor of the other party, and even jail time.

John Bo Nichols is an incredibly gifted and creative attorney who was committed to practical solutions and always had my best interest in mind. He provides excellent counsel and operated with great respect for me as the client, the process, and the court. John Bo is a forward thinker and was prepared for situations and negotiations that I otherwise would not have prevailed from. He protected me when things were less than cordial and championed me as his client both publicly and in private. As difficult as the process was, John Bo was able to lead me through it with his calm but commanding demeanor
