Aztec Animal Clinic was founded in 1990 and is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The original establishment has grown from one veterinarian and a staff of two, to six doctors and a support staff of 20. At 5,500 square feet, the new Aztec Animal Clinic spaciously satisfies our doctors, support staff, and our many clients.
At Aztec Animal Clinic, we offer veterinary services that are designed to encourage your pet's overall wellness. Our veterinary clinic provides high-quality and thorough pet care to Albuquerque's pets because we want your pet to have a long, healthy life with you. While invasive, surgical procedures remain the backbone of veterinary medicine, delivering.
We strive to accommodate the emergency and urgent care needs of our patients by reserving same day urgent care appointment openings throughout our schedule. WE ARE OPEN Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1pm. We understand everyone may run late every once in a while, and if our schedule permits, we'll try to accommodate for these occasions.
As the largest veterinary hospital in the Nob Hill/University area of Albuquerque, Aztec Animal Clinic has many spacious, warm and comfortable exam rooms specifically for cats and dogs. There are computer terminals in each room to allow our veterinarians easy access to the patient's digital medical record as well as to review radiographs and other data with our clients.
The intensive care cage bank is in the treatment area. Patients who are on intravenous fluids, recovering from anesthesia, seriously ill or in need of close monitoring are held in this area. This allows for constant observation by the doctors and technicians and allows for rapid intervention when needed by the most critically ill cats and dogs.

I called them thinking they were my local animal clinic. But they were not, I wish they were closer. But its just the fact they answered all my questions, took the time to ask about my pets health and condition. The receptionist and veterinary were very professional. I would recommend them for your next pet check up.

We recently adopted two young dogs from the ABQ shelter, and we were delighted to see Aztec listed as providers for complimentary checkups in our adoption packet.
Our veterinarian and vet tech went above and beyond for us and our two new family members. As a matter of fact, the whole crew from reception to exit was friendly, professional and efficient.
Naturally, anything beyond the standard exam accrued charges; I mean the extras, such as labs and meds, but it was really nice to receive a free visit from our neighborhood provider for our new BFFs. We feel confident we have found a great veterinarian

I would recommend everyone with pets to come here! I am so appreciative of how fast and accommodating they were with my dog! I was so worried as she hurt herself digging & no one would take her because they weren't taking new clients or no appointments/walk-ins. I called at 234p and they had me scheduled by 239p. Their customer service alone speaks volumes!! Thank you guys for taking care of my baby!

I've absolutely loved taking my dog to Aztec Vet Clinic. I was able to bring her in to the Puppy Preschool and Socialization class, and she still loves going to the vet's office and seeing everyone there. Everyone at the clinic is great to work with, and I greatly appreciate that the veterinarians will explain/walk through different treatment options if/when needed.

Where have these people been all my life as a pet mama? New in town and got me right in when my dog developed an eye infection. Staff was friendly and caring and they obviously love their jobs. Dr. Sedam was very thorough and clear in his exam. I mentioned my pup loves cheese (only thing he would eat that morning because he felt bad) and the next… thing I know, the tech has brought him some cheese to the exam room! But the best part...I have never had a vet actually talk to me about how much I am spending and giving me options on treatment while in the exam room. Usually I just get "sticker

My family has taken their pets to Aztec for years. There has never been a vet or vet tech that I haven't thought was great. I am 80 now so that covers a lot of years! Yesterday, my present dog, Willie, and I saw Dr. Love and, as usual, had we both had a terrific visit.

Dr. Susan Truesdell, the head administrator, is EXCEPTIONALLY rude and unprofessional. Dr. Ochoa misdiagnosed our dog’s cyst and when it came back, Dr. Matek was amazingly apologetic that we had to traumatize our dog yet another time, when it should have been addressed correctly during the first visit with Dr. Ochoa. Our complaint was sent to… Susan, who REFUSED to return our calls or address the double charges on our account. Our kitty was so sick for about four days thinking it was allergies. She could not open her eye and that side of face completely swollen. Dr Sedam assesed her and prescribed medicine and painkillers and today she almost looks back to normal. The staff was very professional carrying animals and medication back to the car. Dr Sedam called us… several times on phone to update the exam. Our animals are giving us their love and company during this pandemic and deserve the best care. Aztec gives the best care. Have seen various docs and all very compassionate and good.
