Services
If Vero Beach is the "true" beach of Florida's Atlantic coast, then Heaton's is its "true" oceanfront restaurant. Steps from the sand, we offer lunch and dinner daily, with waterfront, sweeping ocean vistas by day, and a crackling firepit by night. Dan Grunbeck is the Executive Chef at the Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel & Spa.
A wedding on the shore, and a reception around the fire. A poolside guys' night, or an oceanfront gals' gathering. Frozen drinks in every hand. Tasty bites to pass and share. Whatever your Vero Beach event, we're here for you, with chef-driven menus, craft cocktails and a setting that's second to none.
As lovers of live performances, Heaton's frequently invites top local and regional musicians to join us, playing live at the edge of the ocean. Throughout the week, we invite you to explore our entertainment offerings, all of which allow you to step seamlessly from the warm sand into the cool sound of music.

The fire pit way off to the side is nice, but I much prefer those at Cobalt, both on Vero Beach Hotel property. The food is more casual here than Cobalt, and it's not bad.
I'm not a big fan of live music while I'm trying to have a conversation and eat dinner, especially when the musician is terrible. And he was. Awful.

Took a little bit of effort to get to it due to construction at the hotel, but we grabbed on and we're not disappointed.
Loved chatting with Forbes about the area... Got the wings which (though nothing special) were delicious!!
Loved the view of the rough ocean and played me dear wife backgammon - which I finally won a game!!🍺tj

My wife, mother-in-law and 7 week old baby waited an hour for food during a non-busy time (nearly empty dining room, in fact). They were planning on bringing me some food home but we had to cancel due to the inordinate time it took them to bring out the food. I ended up splitting a burger that had decent flavor but was planning on having the grouper sandwich. The waitress was very nice, however.

My wife and I had dinner at Heaton's on Saturday only because all the other restaurants were booked. Very disappointed. We ordered the crab and artichoke dip for an appetizer. The crab was good but we couldn't find any artichokes. The Flatbread was very salty. We had to scrape the salt off the bread. My wife ordered the Mahi Mahi and it was dry, overly salted , and over cooked. My grouper was meh again the cook used way too much salt for flavor. Paying $30-35 for an entree and it not being cooked properly is not my idea of good value for your money. When visiting Vero Beach I would not go this

Like most places on the beach you pay for the view. Sad, over priced. Quality of the food could have better as well as presentation. Ingredients in salad could have been fresher and presented better. Pretty sure we paid for half a filet. The size of a racquetball. Oh well. I guess at the end of the day it's bar food. The waitress was on point. Service was fine.

We had a fantastic evening out at Heaton's. The hotel staff were friendly directing us to the restaurant.
The Bar Tender we passed welcomed us and was quick to guide us to the hostess. We were quickly seated and had a front row seat to an incredible lightning storm.
Jonathan was our waiter and had us sorted for drinks and appetizers in no time.
The Cheshire cocktail was refreshing and the crab and artichoke dip came out hot and tasted great. The fried chicken was a home run! The honey in the batter made this the best chicken I have had in years. It also came with a unique style of

This is smart casual dining since it's part of the hotel pool side area. You can't see the beach too easily from the dining tables which is a shame as that beach front view really is the selling point. Food is good but nothing fancy, for the price I'd expect better food and service.
Also, if you go for the artichoke, crab and cheese dip be very careful, it arrives in a skillet which isn't too hot to touch but no one mentions the cheese is boiling hot so you place some on a piece of bread none the wiser taking a bite, of course hot cheese sticks to your mouth making it impossible to remove quickly

Update: going for dinner here was an entirely different experience than going for lunch. First of all: no vegan items on the menu. However, they were kind enough to make us a beyond burger. Second: the service was pretty poor. There was a private event next door at the Cobalt; perhaps Heaton's was more crowded because of that. Our server was so busy, he hardly had time to check on us. I had to go to find him to get vinaigrette for the side salad as there wasn't any on it. Third: the cocktails were too sweet; mine tasted more like grenadine than like the coconut or pineapple it was supposed

I went for my wifes 85th birthday along with my .son. we had lobster rolls and fish tacos made with fresh Mahi. Cooked perfectly served with a smile by our excellent server Madison.. great service very attentiveThe green salad fresh and very crispy with a hint of balsamic. For appetizer we had arichoke crab dip. The dip was to die for. Chef Matt stopped by our table to enquire if all was well.this was our first visit but we will be regulars. Sat facing the ocean with a nice breeze. This is south Florida dining at its best.

If you're looking for a great view this is the place to go. The restaurant is open air overlooking the ocean. For cooler/windy days they have heaters on the ceiling. On Tuesdays the do taco Tuesday: $4 tacos (chicken, bbq, and shrimp) and $5 Jimador margaritas. The margaritas were great and really complimented the setting. Out of the tacos I was told the BBQ was better than the shrimp (both flavor wise and portion size) while the fried shrimp flavor was overpowered by the toppings. They also have fish tacos, but those aren't on special. I had the black bean wrap which was pretty good
