I enjoy the complexities and challenges of my work, but most of all I treasure the ability to help others and build strong connections with our community. Caring for people from diverse backgrounds has helped me become more empathetic, as a dentist and personally. I enjoy our conversations and what I learn from each person.
My job is to oversee the office operations, patient relations, scheduling, billing and treatment planning. I am committed to making our patients and their families experience at our office a positive one! I graduated top of my class in 2012 and assisted chairside for 5 years. I joined the Borderview Dental team in 2017 and in 2018 became Office Manager.
Using the most advanced dental technology possible is just as important as staying up-to-date on the latest treatment techniques. Because our practice is dedicated to providing you with the safest and most convenient treatment options available, we utilize advanced digital X-ray technology in our office.
I am a native of the Pacific Northwest growing up just across the line in Abbotsford, BC. I received my Bachelors of Science degree with honors from the University of British Columbia majoring in Cell Biology and Genetics. My education then led me to Boston, MA where I obtained my Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree with honors from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
Our oral health affects every part of our lives. There's a close connection between dental and overall wellness, as what happens in the body affects the mouth and vice versa. Likewise, how we feel about our smiles affects our self-esteem and confidence. You and your family deserve beautiful smiles, brimming with health and happiness.

Serene atmosphere. Today I enjoyed the dental cleaning experience. I was referred to Borderview by a friend and her brother. I was ready for a change and I am very glad I did. You can watch Netflix during the appointment (nice distraction). The staff is easy going and they all seemed to like each other. The building and location have a cabin in the woods atmosphere. I usually have a panic feeling at the dentist but I left calm and happy. Thank you!

First time using Dr. (John) Yoon, after he and his wife, also a dentist there, purchased the practice from my former dentist. Barbara was the Dental Assistant who worked on me. Both were very pleasant, efficient, thorough, and professional. The non-insurance cost for an exam + polish/cleaning was fair and about what I expected. Happy to continue using Borderview Dental in the future.

My first visit with Borderview Dental was great! The facility is clean and modern, and the staff was terrific - friendly, professional, and gentle during the cleaning (most important item as I have some sensitive teeth). Borderview Dental totally saved the day... twice! My husband had a tooth that was causing him all kinds of trouble and they found a way to make room in their busy schedule to help him and a week later they did it again for a friend of ours who needed a tooth pulled as it was causing infection! Borderview Dental in Blaine Washington is the best place to take care of your dental needs. The staff is super friendly and inviting. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. They explained the billing and charges very thoroughly making sure you have a full understanding of what you are paying for and what your insurance, if you have any is covering. Working with Dr. Jong Yoon is a pleasure. He's very mindful of the patients concerns. Very comforting in relaxing you. Visited Border View Dental as a new patient since moving here to Blaine recently. Brock, the hygienist was excellent. The entire staff was helpful and friendly.
Update December 2021. The practice was sold. Visited them again. Was not impressed with the hygienist. The new Dr spent 30 seconds looking at my teeth and did not inspect all of them like my previous dentist I used for 20 years did. I think I’ll be looking for a new dentist.
