It started, naturally enough, with the Hatch family. William Hatch ran a print shop in Prescott, Wisconsin, where his two sons, Charles and Herbert, grew up learning the craft of letterpress printing. In 1875, William Hatch moved his family to Nashville where, four years later, Charles and Herbert founded CR and HH Hatch.

Super interesting place full of history! Really wish we had made it more of a priority and gotten the tour. The artwork is super cool and we LOVED the gallery! Bought both a print and a sticker to support! It’s really disappointing to read other reviews from people who clearly just didn’t get the significance this print shop has had in Nashville. Their loss!

Stellar experience! If you love music and letterpress artwork, Hatch is not to be missed.
I really enjoyed their display of historical prints and their gallery section. It was thrilling to see artwork that was created decades ago and know that the same process, even some the the same presses and equipment is still being used today!
I picked up a remake of an old print "Deeds, not words" - can't wait to have it hanging in my office!

The tour is a nightmare ! Do not waste your time!
The old lady's recitation makes you fall asleep.
The young lady's voice makes your ears explode.
You'll like the punished student , stand on line , oblige to put up with the terrible voice for 1h!
Don't waste your time
Any other museum tour can be much more interesting than this.

These fill up fast. You may want to sign up online well in advance. We had some issues with our tickets; but everyone there went out of their way to make sure we had a fantastic tour. Tori, the education coordinator, was so knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely a must for every music lover, history buff and all around curious person who visits Nashville. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great tour that I highly suggest!
We grabbed the last one available, around 5 pm. I think we paid about 30 bucks. The tour starts out in the original printing room, which is still being used today ! You get to hear word for word fact by fact how Nashville to prints poster and event posters for artists today. They are well spoken and very knowledgeable in the process, since the tour guides print themselves!
Ps you get to make your own print and take it home!
You'll move over into the hallway to get a clear view of the printing section. We were lucky to see 1 person hard at work.

This is CURRENTLY NOT a behind the scenes tour. In fact it's not a tour at all. You stand in front of the glass, they tell you about what's behind the glass and then you go to a room to make a print.
I've been before, was bringing my son for a birthday surprise and I was really disappointed.
Love what they've got here, I'd just skip it until it's really open and really giving the tour.

Very cool history and a good use of time spent for the tour. It's very interesting to walk in the footsteps of history and modern time artistry. The only downside is the marketing that you "get to make your own poster" which made us thInk that we could pick our design. Unfortunately, the poster you "make" is pre-made and you rest just slap on some ink and pull the rollers to finish the project. Granted, it could take forever should each person debate their design. We recommend the tour though -

Unique tour. Get to learn about the history, process and famous posters created by the Hatch Print company. First half of the tour is in the printing room, second half is in a classroom/work room. You do get to complete a print to take home (the print is nothing special, but still a cool experience).
You get a 10% discount at the shop after your tour (don't forget to ask for the discount).

Hour long tour in two rooms of the shop. Tour guides are charismatic, knowledgeable, and funny! Meow, the shop cat, may make an appearance. Rich history will make you fall in love with the Hatch prints and want to commission your own! Deep respect for their history and craftsmanship. Definitely book your tour in advance!

This isn't the original shop at all, but it is the original shop rebuilt in a swanky new building. However, the public can't wander about, as it is still a working printer. In theory this would be wonderful, and I love that they have conserved the original type collection and so very many posters. I also loved seeing all of the new work, and seeing how that combines with old print blocks to make something utterly modern and yet still a perfect example of the classic house style.
Unfortunately everything that would make this interesting is not allowed to be toured by the public. You

This place is awesome! We stumbled upon it while at the Country Music Hall of Fame. They are affiliated and they happen to have a children's event that day that was amazing! It was a print class where the kids could use all of the print equipment to make their own posters. It was free and very full, but we luckily got in.
The instructors were great and really knew what they were doing. They were also great with the kids and mine had a great time. They made prints of all sizes and even used the roller print tool. It was cool to see how this was done back in the day and we really felt like

When my friend from Austin came to visit me in Nashville, she asked that we tour Hatch Show Print! I hadn't even heard of it, but I added it to the list!
Hatch Show Print opened as a letterpress print shop in 1875, and it's made a ton of famous posters for the Ryman and for so many other purposes! it still designs and prints 500-600 posters a year!
Located within the Country Music Hall of Fame, you can tour Hatch Show Print daily at 12:30, 2:00, and 3:30. We went to the 3:30 tour on a Saturday. I bought our tickets a few days ahead of time! Good thing, because the tour did sell out

I love love Hatch. I first visited it when it was in it's old location. I'm a crazy cat lady, so naturally my souvenir from Nashville was a print featuring the Hatch Cats.
Returning to the area to visit, I told my friend I definitely wanted to return. She showed me their new location, which is bigger and includes a tour. We didn't do the tour, since it was easy to see all the gears and machinery through the glass window, which was enough for me. I hear that only one cat is still around, but that he still lives at the store, which made me happy. I bought another of their cat related
