Under the guidance of principal J Brown, the highly motivated, detail-oriented team at SMA has completed projects of all magnitudes across the U.S., as well as internationally. Projects range in size from small art installations to power plants and are located from within Kansas City to as far away as Jakarta, Indonesia.
The ability to incorporate the design of a lace pattern made out of aluminum is unheard of in the structural engineering world. We worked with the design team to develop this concept. Only a handful of structural engineers in the nation have the creativity & technical skill to execute this design. The Magill Residence is a great example of our "FASTER" philosophy.
Just a few years ago laser scanning was a novelty which only large companies could afford on large projects. The technology has matured in recent years; it's not only viable but an indispensable tool to stay competitive. Laser scanning allows us to capture areas that would otherwise be too dangerous, impractical, or impossible to document with a tape measure or traditional methods of field measurements.
Structural Modeling & Analysis provided Structural Engineering & Laser Scanning services for Exact Architects on the Wonder Lofts project. The 80,000 ft2 Campbell-Continental Baking Company Building at 30th and Troost will be renovated to a mixed-use structure, including apartments, restaurants, retail and office space.
Structural Modeling & Analysis provided laser scanning services for the King Louie Building renovation, currently in progress. The renovated 79,000 ft2 center will house the Johnson County Museum, Theater in the Park productions, Park & Rec facilities. The King Louie Building is located at 8788 Metcalf Avenue in Overland Park.
