Champlain Construction has been in business for more than 30 years providing excavation services. We specialize in footers, blockwork, and cement work for residential or commercial projects. Champlain Construction began with small excavation projects. Throughout the years, we have grown. Now we do general construction work on large and small commercial projects as well as residential additions and general home repairs.
We have also done many storm water management plans ranging from rock sumps for roof water, site drainage plans, French drain systems to large grading projects.

Services
I started Champlain Construction over 27 years ago working on excavation and masonry projects. We have grown over time and have changed. We have completed many commercial and residential projects. For example, the jobs we have completed include building restaurants, residential homes and additions, as well as general home repairs.
Wet basements are caused by many reasons. Most problems start by improper grading, broken rain leaders, wet soil against foundation walls, poor foundation drainage or no drain at all! Additional problems are created because of these conditions: bowed foundation walls; cracked footing; wet and rotten wood; and, mold and mildew on walls and carpet.
I started doing backhoe work in 1978 on small excavation projects, such as grading yards, digging driveways and French drain systems. Over the years Champlain Construction has grown to offer a complete excavation service with equipment for any size job. We have large and small excavators that can make the jobs go smoothly and quickly.
We started doing foundation drainage in the early 1980s and have changed our system over the years as better products evolved. Most foundation drainage problems start when your home was built. Problems result when French drains or relief lines were not installed properly along with improper grading against foundation walls, little foundation preparation and proper grading to keep water away.
Over the years, we have fixed these problems. I have worked with several engineering firms to repair interior and exterior structural problems. For instance, we have replaced main wood beams with steel beams, underpinned foundation footings, and added support pilasters. Together with engineering firms we create an effective plan to correct all these problems.
