As part of the team, we work closely with the client during the design phase to provide a product that achieves objectives, vision and goals. We coordinate design efforts to accommodate client constraints and work to meet these requirements while identifying potential impacts, and establishing a critical path.

Led by Pete Buurstra, our team includes sixteen full-time team members consisting of project managers, engineers, landscape architects, surveyors, computer technicians, field technicians and an office manager - living and working in communities across the state.Over our history, we have grown to become leaders in water resource management and site development.

The foundation of every successful project is the base survey data. LRE's survey team delivers the highest quality product using state-of-the-art equipment and technology. The expertise of our survey team is imperative to the success of each project from the initial topographic / boundary survey to final construction staking.
From locally funded projects to MDOT's Local Agency Program (LAP), project-specific funding drives the composition of the contract documents, including drawings, construction specifications, and engineering cost estimates. City projects can vary from simple road resurfacing to full-depth pavement reconstruction with utility replacement.
LRE has successfully completed more than 100 projects for drain commissioners in over 25 counties throughout Michigan. We strive to develop holistic solutions to managing storm water on a watershed scale. Our firm has been awarded Innovation and Excellence Awards from the Michigan Association of County Drain Commissioners in 5 of the last 7 years.
