Services
If you are interested in a tour of one of our properties you will need to schedule an appointment with an SMC representative. For any apartments that indicate "occupied" on the property list a scheduled showing is required and must be scheduled 1 business day in advance. A scheduled appointment helps to ensure a time that will work for your schedule and allows us to properly notify our current residents of a showing.
Prospective residents are welcome to apply to rent from SMC in general, but they will need to go on a property tour with an SMC representative in order to place a security deposit on a particular apartment or house (we do not rent "sight unseen"). A $20.00 application fee per adult applicants (18 and older) is required for each and every adult that would be residing in the rental property does need to submit an application.
SMC has storage Units available in various locations in Minot, as well as in Surrey. They range in size from 59's all the way up to 4050's with prices varying from $35 to $400 - prices vary according to size and location. Popular storage unit sizes are 812's, which are comparable to the size of a small room/office, and 1220's which are comparable to the size of a single car garage.
We have an excellent variety of apartments to fit any needs. Our staff is very professional & dedicated to helping you find your new home and is available to visit with you Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm. Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and we are available for property tours from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Not really happy with any of the property management companies in this town. They all think that their properties are so valuable...not in this economy they aren't. Oil boom is stagnant and nobody has the income that's required to rent decent property. However if you haven't a care that the building needed to be condemned years ago...they'll move you right in.

Rude staff, and double charge rent due to "lack of records." I moved out in August because I had orders for the military, and they slapped me with a $3,600 fee for "cleaning and damages" after I hired a professional cleaning service to go through every square inch. I understand the damages, pets and toddlers run wild anywhere they go. But to say it was filthy is an outright lie. Don't expect a penny from me, my attorney, or my accountant.

Supposedly live in a “pet free apartment” but someone’s dog had a accident in the entryway of the building. Left a message at 750 to inform them of it. It is now 2 in the afternoon without a returned phone call or the entryway cleaned. After calling again I’m told “they’ll give the cleaning lady a call”. This should not have been put off the entire day and it’s disgusting walking in the door to this smell. Would not recommend.

SMC property Management has to be the biggest joke of Minot North Dakota I had my storage locker broken into and over $5,000 worth of my stuff stolen I left two police reports also called their 24-hour line and the guy told me to f off and told me that my stuff was not important! now today I come in to pick up my check that I was supposed to have a week ago because nobody seems to talk to each other there at this place! please if you want to get your stuff stolen from you if you want to get it taken if you want to be mistreated by a bunch of rude people please use SMC this is the place for you

We were excited to rent out Willow Hollows however, the previous tenant smoked and it smelt horrible, the carpets absorbed a lot of that as well as black scattered stains all over the dining area. Resident manager Shirley advised to us those stains didn’t come out the last time they “shampooed”. She thought the company should replace them after the smoker lived in them. We have an asthmatic child so the smell would have him easily, the price was perfect for our budget & it’s unfortunate they couldn’t replace them. Even more unfortunate that the leasing agent had a conflict of interest

The staff doesn’t and won’t care about you or your family, I highly suggest you rent elsewhere..We put in a request to have our shower fixed over 6 months ago now. So we have spent over half of our 1 year lease with only one working bathroom while paying for 2! Please everyone, avoid renting from SMC Properties. I guarantee you will find better customer service and better, friendlier properties to rent from who actually treat you the way you deserve to be treated.

They have no clue what they are doing got a storage unit from them for 30 days and was told it would be 35 dollars plus the deposit when I gave back my keys they then told me it would be more and that she wouldn't do anything to refund me the money. Even though I have a receipt saying I paid for the 30 days in full for 35 dollars and that's what they told me it would cost. She said she wouldn't refund me even though it was her employees mistake and she even admitted it was her employees mistake
