Superior ventilation in the treatment rooms allows removing your mask for treatment. Dr. Benson wears his mask when face to face. Your first visit will take about one hour. I'll ask you to give me your insurance and identifying information, to read and sign our office policies so everything is clear up front, to agree to binding arbitration, and to fill out a comprehensive health questionnaire. Sounds far more daunting than it actually is- I've streamlined everything down to four short pages of essentials.
When you are first adjusted, your body is in a new relationship with itself, and with gravity. All the time the problem has been building up, your body was in an unhealthy pattern. Some ligaments have shortened or lengthened inappropriately, and some muscles are in habitual spasm. It takes time and healing to create a new pattern that will be healthier for the rest of your life.
Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a technique within chiropractic which uses manual muscle testing to help diagnose and treat nerve, muscle and joint problems. The term kinesiology means the study of the mechanics of body movements, and Applied Kinesiology helps detect problems and correct those body mechanics.
CranioSacral Therapy is a trademarked approach to cranial work taught by the Upledger Institute. Dr. Benson has taken a full range of courses in this approach, studying directly with John Upledger, DO, originator of the technique. I have combined that technique with chiropractic cranial techniques called Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) and osteopathic cranial adjusting.
Flexion distraction or Cox technique uses a specially designed table which allows me to produce a decompression of the disks and joints of the lower back. The technique was developed to correct acute ruptured disks, where the 'jelly' in the middle of the disk protrudes to the side and presses on a spinal nerve.

Have been with Dr. B for quite a few years. Yes he is fabulous! Today, without a thought, when he asked his, how are you, I actually found myself breaking. Explained how I have been trying to be grateful, thoughtful, mindful through all of this and realized I have been depressed. Yes, I came out of this treatment feeling whole again! Thank you Dr. B

I'm very thankful for Dr. Benson and would highly recommend him. I honestly resisted going to any chiropractor for my neck pain but after trying so many other types of help & considering surgery, I figured I'd give it a try. He not only figured out how to help me when many other doctors in multiple disciplines and multiple states failed, he's the only doctor that was sympathetic and showed real concern. And when I started to feel better, he celebrated the victories with me too!

The most recent experience was as helpful as every adjustment I've had from Dr. Benson...in all the years I have enjoyed what chiropractic offers, Dr. Benson is the only chiropractor who can manipulate my neck and bring total relief from lingering effects of a neck injury. I introduced my husband to the potential of chiropractic care about 5 years ago. He had no experience and no interest in having any. He now comments on the positive effects of his adjustments, and even plans his more strenuous activities to happen prior to scheduled visits to Dr. Benson.
