Jefferson Oaks Behavioral Health
Nestled among the beautiful oak trees of Jefferson Highway's Bocage area, Jefferson Oaks Behavioral Health is a privately owned facility that has been a leader in the field of treating mental health for south Louisiana since its opening in 2004. Jefferson Oaks is an accredited program that provides a direct service to those who suffer from a variety of mental health issues.

The program is designed to assist those whose mental health needs are severe enough to impact daily functioning, but not so severe as to necessitate 24 hour hospitalization. It is a more independent alternative for the treatment of many mental health issues. Our goal is to provide patients with the structure and necessary tools for stabilization and continued personal growth.
Services
It isn't necessary to be at "rock bottom" to meet criteria for PHP treatment. There may be times in life where pain and strife begin to affect one's daily functioning - difficulty sleeping, loss of appetite, isolation, lost interests, thoughts of suicide. This emotional struggle can often be overwhelming and result in feelings of hopelessness.
Everyday life can become so overwhelming that some may need help learning how to appropriately and successfully cope. While weekly outpatient therapy sessions work for some, others may require a more intensive level of care. To meet those needs, Jefferson Oaks Behavioral Health is a Louisiana behavioral hospital with a rehab center in Baton Rouge, just minutes from Zachary.
Jefferson Oaks Behavioral Health's Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Programs (AdIOP) provides quality mental health care to adolescents between the ages of 15 - 18. As one of the only programs of its kind in the region, we offer a much needed "intermediate" level of care for adolescents who have needs that are too complex to be effectively managed in an office outpatient setting, but do not reach the threshold warranting inpatient hospitalization.
Jefferson Oaks believes that addictions and substance abuse are directly related to mental health or to lack of healthy coping skills. Sadly, substance abuse in Louisiana is a recurring and ongoing issue affecting many. Through our addiction center, we have built our Dual Diagnosis Program based on the premise that most people who are struggling with addiction are also struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, or other mental health issues.
I would like to say I think it' s great that each of the counselors have a different style and approach. It made a difference in how I learned new skills and was insightful. I truly enjoyed all of them. Jefferson Oaks has a great program that is very concentrated on helping patients achieve their goals.

I was incorrectly diagnosed by the staff psychiatrist and given medication which was detrimental to my actual diagnosis.
Also unbelievably overpriced for the therapy and care that is offered.

Please do not go here! Don't waste your time and money. Whatever issues you are dealing with, the staff here will not help fix it. They will sit there and listen but they will not hear a thing you are saying. They have a preset treatment plan for every diagnosis whether it be valid or not. When you disagree with their treatment plan, they treat you like you need to be institutionalized! They take days to return calls and are very unprofessional. I highly recommend you to stay away from this place!

If I could give Jefferson oaks negative eight stars I would. Judy the owner has no idea what she is doing. The therapists don't actually evaluate based on any med records. They just have a ten min talk and can evidently diagnose you on the spot after seeing your financial situation. They even offered to postpone my suicidal child's care to work around their after school activities just so they could get another customer. I can't say enough negative things about this place. No one is professional. They just want to push meds and don't believe in any holistic modalities for healing

This place helped me a lot. I stayed for three months doing this program. Everything was great until the follow ups with the psychiatrist. I actually cried on my way back but I felt like once you graduate ... they don’t care about you anymore . I mentioned something I was still struggling about and I felt I was just brushed off. I’m on the fence.

Terrible, terrible, terrible!!! My best friend's mom went here and they treated her with such disrespect. The owner and a lady named judy were so mean and unprofessional when my best friend called to discuss a possible payment plan for her mom. She needed care so bad and was essentially suicidal but as soon as insurance stopped paying they kicked her out. Jefferson Oaks are a bunch a thieves.

I can't express how disappointed I am with Jefferson Oaks. The level of care received by a person I care about was atrocious. They cared more about their billings than the health and well-being of their patients. I'm only giving one star because I have to in order to leave a review. If I had my way I'd leave negative 5 stars. Please don't make the same mistake we did. I don't know who is running that place but they need to take a good look in the mirror and determine what's more important- being unscrupulous and bleading patients dry financially or helping people. Those things aren't mutually exclusive
