Dr. McPherson loves kids! After receiving her bachelor's degree from Lincoln University and her dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, Dr. McPherson practiced community dentistry in her hometown of Boston for four years. There, her treatment of children encouraged her to seek additional training to become a pediatric dentist.
At Jersey City Pediatric Dentistry, our mission is to work with both you and your child to provide the best possible dental care. Our office is equipped with the latest in pediatric dental technology and treatment options, but our great, personalized service defines us most of all. Jersey City Pediatric Dentistry understands that some children are a little nervous about their first dental visit.
Known as the "Pediatricians of Dentistry, " pediatric dentists are dentists who take special training to focus on the health, growth and development of the teeth of babies, children and teens. We graduate from dental school, like family dentists, then undergo several additional years of hospital and/ or university specialty training to learn the best treatments for children's dental problems.
We accept cash, all major credit cards and offer third-party financing through CareCredit. As a courtesy to our patients - we will submit your claim to your PPO plan so long as it has out of network benefits and is willing to pay us directly. The best way to know how your insurance will cover our services is for us to call them directly - which we are happy to do.

Jersey City Pediatric Dentistry is the best. They are made my 2.5 year old fill at ease through engagement and helping him understand what they were going to do and how to use the tools. There was very little wait time between the teeth cleaning and the dentist visit. I highly recommend Jersey City pediatric.

I have never been more impressed with a facility for my son. The atmosphere was child friendly. They all exercised patience and kindness towards my son. It was very clean! We were seen right away so they scheduled their patients accordingly. It feels great to finally find a place where my son feels comfortable. I also appreciated the fact that the doctor and hygienist took time to talk to my son and showed him how to brush, what foods to stay away from etc. He will continue to receive dental services from here until they say he is to old.

Dr. Wilma and her team are wonderful! This was my daughters first dentist visit and the team could not have made it any better. The office is clean and all the employees we met were warm and welcoming. The office is also strict to adhering to covid protocols which is very much appreciated. Thank you for a wonderful first visit!

My children had a fear of Dentist due to bad past experiences and these other locations have no courtesy or bedside manner especially when dealing with toddlers on their first trip to the dentist!
I can’t believe with my babies first visit she didn’t want to leave! As we left the Dentist office and went to eat lunch my three year old turned to me… and said mom my teeth hurt we have to go back so dr can check it! It turns out she just wanted to go back and she never had an issue with her teeth! Seriously what child would lie just to go back to see their dentist!! I have two children

Delightful first visit. Great experience from beginning to end: the person that scheduled my appointment and immediately verified my insurance, the dental hygienist who gave a tour of the layout and put my 4 year old at ease and the dentist herself who my daughter adored. My child did not want to leave. Wonderful kid friendly environment. I wish I could get my check ups here.

I am very happy with the service they provided for my 8yr old. It's really hard to find a good dentist and being new to Jersey City I had no good dentist in the area for her to visit that was kid-friendly and still very professional. I'm truly glad I found their office. Dr. Wilma is amazing with the kids and I watched her with not only my child but the others that were there and she is a just naturally amazing at what she does and making the kids feel comfortable. Mrs. Alex (the hygienist) is just as great with the children!!!! Awesome service, great cleaning and amazing results!!

We've been bringing our son here since he was 6 months old and it's been a genuinely pleasurable (and adorable!) experience each time! The staff is super friendly, they explain the tools they are going to use in fun and creative ways and ways that relate to my toddler. The dentist is gentle, and the appointment is quick - no long waits and my son sits still throughout! Highly recommend!

My 6 year old daughter has been to 5 different dentists and was scared of all of them. I was a little skeptical when my own dentists recommend JC pediatric dentistry but my skepticism has proven to be wrong. The caring nature of the staff and dentist relaxed her immediately and she is actually excited to go to he dentist now. I never thought it would be possible
