At Smile Zone, Dr. Hudkins and Dr. Rockne strive to provide excellent, compassionate care to pediatric patients and patients with disabilities in a fun, friendly environment. We understand that our patients cannot be rushed. That's why we apply the "Tell, Show, Do" method. We explain it in terms they can understand, show the patient what we are going to do, and then we do This method is as effective as it is simple!
One half of the dynamic doctor duo, Dr. Heather Hudkins has brought experience in compassionate, conservative care to Smile Zone for over 10 years. With her ever-contagious smile and laughter, Dr. H with brighten your visit! Dr. Hudkins graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Missouri-Kansas City.

The Mighty Mouth Club is for patients who maintain a healthy smile by being cavity free at their checkup. Our goal is to motivate every patient to work hard at their oral health and be excited for each visit. Mighty Mouth Club Members are invited to an exclusive zero cavity celebration following their perfect checkup.

Today was my daughter's first time at the dentist. She ended up needing some work done, and they did it the same day. Everyone from the time I walked in, to the time I left was so caring and wonderful. This was my daughter's first time having work done (she's 6), so it caused me to be a little emotional. I was slightly embarrassed but they all were very understanding and kept checking on her for me, giving me updates in the waiting room. My daughter ended up getting sick during the work and they gave her a shirt to change in to and was very professional about it. I can't thank Dr. Hudkins and staff

We love the smile zone and especially Jess! She’s helped our little guy overcome some really big fears and is always so patient and sweet. Today he finished up ALL of his extensive dental work!🙌 He’s declared her his BFF and informed her today that if she ever needs him, he will come and stand by her.☺️ We cannot thank you all enough!

My kids have been there a few times and the last time the dentist made *both* kids vomit. The assistant said it was normal but that's never happened before with our previous dentist in Kansas City in the many years we went there. It seems they probably gave too much nitrous gas but they denied that. The dentist never came out to visit with us, even when we asked. Maybe we are accustomed to awesome care in Kansas City but this place is not kid-friendly, is not gentle, does not explain what's happening, and seems to lie. Worst pediatrics dentist we have been to in the Springfield area. I hope this

I cannot say enough about Dr. Hudkins and all the ladies at Smilezone, especially Caitlin. My boys have had a hard time at every other dentist except this one! They have been so kind and gentle with them and make difficult procedures bearable and even fun for them. This office has been a true answer to my prayers and I am so thankful for them. Dr Hudkins is also really knowledgeable and experienced, it is not hard to trust her expert opinion. Thank you ladies for all you do!
