Welcome to Plum Massage, a website designed to make appointments, purchase gift certificates and learn a bit about deeper tissue massage therapy and how the muscular system of the human body works. I have endured the pain and numbness of carpal tunnel syndrome for over 12 years and i am now pain free!
After only one session, I was amazed to realize the carpel tunnel pain was almost entirely gone. It took only a handful of sessions to eradicate the problem entirely, and now months later, it has not returned. Eric's knowledge of anatomy of the body is apparent as soon as he begins his work. He listens, responds, and understands what the client needs.

Services
Hello, my name is Eric Plum. I have been a licensed massage practitioner for fifteen years with all but one of those years in Bellingham. I attended massage school in Philadelphia prior to moving to the northwest. Trained in Swedish massage, I've developed my deeper tissue work through education, lots of practice and experience.
A muscle is comprised of millions of fibers, in most cases running in the same direction. Each of these fibers has many 'hooks' along the length of the muscle. Muscles contract to create motion by using these hooks to grab the fiber next to it and pulling it closer thereby contracting the muscle. These hooks are released when the muscle is elongating.
I consider the work I do to be a very intense work-out for your body. Your muscles will be worked thoroughly, stretching and breaking through stubborn knots. Just as with exercise, we will be tearing apart muscle fibers so they can rebuild properly lengthened and supple. The level of depth is dependent on your physical health.
