My counselor at this location was amazing. But beware. This office has a very shady billing department. For starters, they do not look up your insurance before an appointment. They will charge you the entire amount of the visit and then only credit you what they got from the insurance provider after you send numerous emails. They also don’t use the name of your actual therapist. They use a name of another counselor with more credentials, I’m assuming it’s so they can charge your insurance provider more money. My last appointment with them was in December. It is now May 1st and I just noticed

I recently got matched with Acuity from my PCP. For some background, I work a job in labor where it is not always convenient or practical to answer the phone. After getting insurance after years of being uninsured, this has provided to be quite the challenge for scheduling all of these new referrals/appointments my PCP is setting up for me. So I've been keeping an eye on my phone to try and catch these unexpected phone calls and reschedule them.
Around 1pm I got a call from an unrecognized number that turns out to be Acuity. I manage to answer it, but I wasn't in a good place to talk. After asking

I've hesitated to post this review since I ended my relationship with Acuity in April. My intention isn't to hurt anyone's feelings, but to help anyone considering Acuity understand what they might be signing up for.
I know this is long, so here's a summary:
I was matched with a provider who actively chose not to prioritize our work together, who pressured me into appointments I didn't feel I needed (resulting me paying hefty fees), and went through a whole series of miscommunications before I was able to finally have them fully take me off their calendar.

We began seeing Maggie Rodriguez ,for therapy in May of 2018. At that time Acuity could not provide us any information on how our bank info would be protected in their billing system, so we declined to provide it. Maggie agreed to allow us to pay our portion in cash at the start of each visit. After the first few meetings we were told our portion was slightly higher than what we were paying so we settled up and made the decision to continue therapy with Maggie. Nothing else was ever mentioned throughout our sessions regarding our payments. When my office went through a round of layoffs, we discontinued
