Faulkner Banfield, P.C., was founded in Juneau, Alaska in 1914 by Herbert Faulkner. Before commencing his legal practice, Mr. Faulkner served as a U.S. Marshal for the Territory of Alaska and, among his other exploits, arrested Robert Stroud, the "Birdman of Alcatraz." Our firm's alumni include several Alaska Supreme Court justices, the first Alaskan to serve on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and a state attorney general.

BethAnn Boudah Chapman ("Beth") has practiced law in Juneau for over 30 years in the areas of estate planning, probate, trust law, and business law. Complex estate planning, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trust, asset protection trusts, life insurance trusts, dynasty trusts, and community property trusts.
Mr. Sholty joined Faulkner Banfield in 1977 after serving as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Ketchikan. His practice emphasizes litigation, including bad faith defense, products liability, medical and other professional malpractice defense and general insurance defense. Mr. Sholty has appeared in federal and state courts throughout Alaska and in other jurisdictions.
Faulkner Banfield has worked effectively with other law firms, from both outside of and within Alaska, in a variety of cases before state and federal courts in Alaska, the Alaska Department of Revenue and other administrative bodies.
