I have had an interest in photography for as long as I can remember. As a teenager I was curious about how the photos I saw in magazines and newspapers were shot. Whenever I picked up a camera I wanted to capture real portraits of the people around me, not just snapshots.

Over the years I spent building a career in construction material sales and marketing I was again drawn to photography in trying to capture exceptional photos of the materials I worked with as they were used in architecture. Those challenges during the days of transition from film to digital photography sparked my interest in architectural and commercial photography as a creative process.
Services
Commercial cabinetry and millwork jobs are one of the most interesting types of projects that I work on. In many cases there are important details that required unique skills to create but are difficult to access and photograph. You need to be ready to shoot any area of a room or an entire building.
Photography of the interior of commercial buildings presents a huge array of lighting and composition challenges. A single project can require photos of office spaces, manufacturing areas, retails spaces, and any other type of type of space that a photographer can image. In an effort to be prepared to get the full variety of shots the client may require I try to scout commercial locations prior to the day of the shoot.
Product Photography is another area that requires a photographer to be ready for anything. Each project is truly unique. You may be working with very small products like jewelry one day and large RV accessories the next. The photo shoot may be in the studio for some items and a remote outdoor location for others.
Photographing residential exteriors is one of the most enjoyable jobs in architectural photography. Residential exteriors offer many opportunities to be creative in the use of available light and perspective. Taking a street level shot of a home is relatively easy but produces predictable results. Taking the time to photograph a home at dawn or sundown can make the photos much more dynamic.
Photographing residential interiors is especially challenging. In many cases the photographer has a limited amount of time on site to get the shots that are needed. Access to the home many be limited to just a few hours and in that time the photographer must find a way light and shoot 6 - 8 separate areas of the home or more.
