Dr. Dean Janssen has been providing safe, natural and effective chiropractic care since 1995. He is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island in 1989 and Life Chiropractic College in 1995. Before relocating his family back to Portsmouth in 2003, he had a private practice in Pompano Beach, Florida.

We use a number of highly-effective adjusting approaches to help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we use is based on our clinical judgment and years of experience. After identifying which vertebrae have lost their normal motion or position, a specific and gentle manual thrust is applied to free up fixated spinal joints.

After filling it out, you'll meet with Dr. Janssen personally to talk about your health history, followed by a comprehensive exam.

I went to this office barely able to lean over the sink and brush my teeth, that much back pain. I was running a lot and had thrown out my back, could barely turn over in bed. With a weekly visit to Dean, (after he sent me for X-rays), I was able to eventually return to running and was pain free. He was able to get me back to doing everything I liked and even a half marathon. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND him to anyone in the same situation. I continue follow ups as needed.

Having had chronic neck pain for over a year, I have seen a neurosurgeon, a pain management specialist and received countless injections. Nothing worked to relieve the pain. Finally I met Dr. Janssen. Within 3-4 treatments the pain subsided and the more treatments the better I feel. The office is warm and welcoming. Dr. Janssen is kind. He was the only provider I have seen who took the time to review my imaging with me, which built trust that the treatment pathway he recommended was the right one for me. A friend of mine referred me to Dr. Janssen and I am very grateful to have met him.

Absolutely amazing experience, everything about this office is exceptional. The Janssen’s are professional, personable, cleanly and willing to work with your schedule. I have lived with chronic pain for half of my life- constantly dumbfounding doctors as to what the source of pain is. They chalk it up to a bad back but its more than that and they cant seem to come to any concrete conclusion or pain management plan. I have tried different testing, PT, several different meds, eating healthy and exercise, none of which helped ease the pain AT ALL. It wasn't until a car wreck that I was in a year ago that I was introduced to Dr. Janssen. It was a LONG and hard road back to any form of "normalcy" but if it weren't for Dr. Janssen I would still be in crippling pain

Dr. Janssen was recommended to me by a close family friend. My first appointment with him was a breeze, I was instantly comfortable & took all his recommendations. After XRays, Dr. Janssen was able to explain to me in detail what needed to happen to get me back on my feet.
For over 2 months I had been hurting thinking it was a muscle strain from doing CrossFit. I waited too long & let myself get to the point to where I couldn’t even bend over to put my own shoes on.
One month into treatment, I am so happy to say I am doing so much better. I will continue treatment even though I feel better

Dr. Janssen was recommended to me by a friend who had been seeing Dr. Janssen. I am forever grateful that she did. I was having annoying neck pain, which has all but disappeared thanks to Dr. Janssen. I go once a month for lower back pain and I have never felt better! It is a safe, clean environment and I would highly recommend Janssen Chiropractic to anyone suffering with any kind of back or neck pain. Dr. Janssen and his staff are unbelievable. I was in a motor vehicle accident back in April in 2020 and it really messed up my back. My lawyer referred me to his practice and I could not be happier. Even with this whole Covid pandemic going on they had everything under control. They took me in and made me feel like family. I highly recommend them. From anything from a accident or just needing your back readjusted. I’m so great full for the excellent work they did and the professionalism. I went to Dr. Jansen because I threw out my sciatic nerve and basically couldn't walk. After my assessment he also discovered a degenerative disc in my lower back which was contributing to the problem. Dr. Jansen had me back to walking without issue and able to go about my normal routines as a teacher quickly and I am now seeing him for regular maintenance for the disc problems. Don't hesitate to make an appointment! Dr. Jansen and Lisa will take great care of you.
