A.H. Grover, Inc. was established in 1973 by its current President, Alwin H. Grover. Al was 35 years old and recently out of the Marine Reserves when he established his company with a John Deere 1010 bulldozer, a 1973 Ford pickup and several pieces of farm equipment. Since that time, A.H. Grover, Inc. has worked on more than 1000 municipal, residential and commercial construction projects.
Al worked seven days a week, very long days with office work late into the night to build his company with many returning loyal customers. In 1977 the company known as Alwin H. Grover Excavating & Trucking was incorporated and renamed to A.H. Grover, Inc. Today A. H. Grover, Inc. is one of Southern Maine's leading site, road and utility contractors, capable of competing on the smallest and the largest of projects.

I recently had the pleasure of having work done through these guys. Their quality of work, attentiveness and work ethic is fantastic. They start early, work late and do what it takes to get things done.

I live in a development that was done by this company. I moved into my new house in January of 2018. Because the development was not completed at the time, Grover inc was responsible for upkeep of the road. This included plowing the road during winter storms. This seemed to be a challenge for a company owning a multitude of trucks because our… road was frequently neglected. After the winter was over the community was under the impression that the development would be completed and turned over to the city for upkeep and services. We found out through inquiries into the city by community members

This company conducts themselves in a terrible manner. Although I have not used them for any excavation projects I would not recommend them to anyone based solely on how they handled a customer service related issue I had with them. My car was damaged by some sort of debris that was flying out of the back of one of their dumptrucks. Unfortunately I didn't have a dashboard camera to catch it all. I reached out to the owner to let him know this was unacceptable and he needed to sort this out. The receptionist was rude before handing over the phone to the owner at my request.
