DPI (Dots Per Inch) or as some might call PPI (Points Per Inch) refers to the number of pixels within an inch. Think of this as the density of an object. The higher the DPI, the more pixels there are in every inch of the object and the higher resolution/quality the image will be.
When exporting your artwork from a design tool like photoshop or InDesign, make sure the image dimensions is close to the final print dimensions and that you submit JPG files that are 300 DPI.What happens when the image is not 300 DPI? Probably the worst experience I’ve had with a printing company which sucks because I was so hopeful with their prices! You pay cheap and get cheap! They WAY overcharge for shipping ($25 for something that costs $6 to mail?) (which is probably how they make their money), their products come damaged with weird indents on them, some of our books came damaged too, and their website is a joke. You can’t even order from it. You have to send an email in and play email tag with them to order. Overall my boyfriend and I weren’t pleased with his order and recommend staying away. The owner made us a
