I had been using John Wilson for years but an error in my taxes this year ended up costing me $2,500 + interest and penalties now due to the CA FTB! I tried contacting John consistently for almost 3 months to get to the bottom of a notification sent to me by the CA FTB and he never had any updates for me. Meanwhile, I simply collected more penalties and interest! He finally admitted it was an accounting mistake on his part and now I have it in writing!

I don't know why it has taken me so long to review the best tax accountant in San Diego. I have been going to Michael for over a decade and he is the best of the best. He is careful and doesn't miss a thing. He is also there to remind me what deductions I can take and what I can't. His prices are very reasonable and he always remembers who I am and we pick up our conversation, year after year, catching up like no time has passed. I would highly recommend Mike to anyone! By the way, he is great with business taxes as well! This guy knows his stuff!

Back in the good old days, I used a CPA up in Los Angeles - lived there for years, had buildings and equipment and all sorts of hoops to ram my taxes through. When I moved to San Diego, my line of work became decidedly freelancier, but the taxes didn't get any less complicated, and it turned out I still needed a good tax guy. A vendor I work with had used the Pauley half of Pauley & Wilson for years, and suggested I give them a try.
It was a good recommendation - John Wilson has been ahead of the curve on several "challenges" I've encountered in tax-crazy CA, and I haven
