An effective gutter and downspout system will protect your property by moving water away from your property's foundation or basement. We generally recommend a 5" gutter system on asphalt shingle roofs and 6" systems on metal and tile roofs. However, some shingle roofs may require a 6 system depending on the type of shingle and pitch of the roof.
Leaks can result from parts of the roof that have been damaged or flashings that have been damaged or deteriorated that can be replaced. The replacement of your roof will ultimately depend on the condition of your roof. It would be best to have a professional evaluate the condition of the roof if the roof is more than 15 years old.
