Founded in 1985, Shear Engineering Corporation provides services for structural and land development infrastructure planning and design. We are organized into two teams for the structural and civil aspects of development design. Our structural team provides structural analyzes for residential and commercial buildings, ensuring that buildings will meet or exceed building codes required by local governing entities.

Our civil team provides comprehensive development designs for roads, streets, waterlines, sewer lines, over-lot grading, finished grading and drainage systems. The civil team coordinates land development projects through the local land development review processes. We pride ourselves in developing excellent continual working relations with our clients and providing a quality service based on mutual trust and co-operation.

Shear has 29 years of experience in civil engineering projects from large commercial detention requirement design to residential drainage studies.
Pinnacle Townhomes is located on the south side of East Prospect Road about one-quarter mile west of the intersection Lemay Avenue with East Prospect Road in Fort Collins, Colorado. Shear Engineering Corporation provided the utility plans and drainage study for Pinnacle Townhomes, which consists of 50 hometown units and three single-family homes for a total of 53 units on 6.7 acres.
Shear Engineering Corporation provided the civil sitework design and building foundation as well as structural designs for an expansion of the Jax Mercantile Co. store located at 1200 North College Avenue. This project site consisted of an existing 6.03 acre commercial property with a 3,000 SF retail addition.
The Comfort Suites is a 2.61 acre site, located at 4851 Thompson Parkway; Southeast of the Interstate 25 and Highway 34 intersection in Johnstown, Colorado. The development consists of a 3-story, 92-room Comfort Suites with pool and a water slide. Shear Engineering Corporation provided both the civil sitework and building foundation and structural designs.
