Services
Jon started his apprenticeship in arboriculture & tree surgery in 1997. 4 years on and with an impressive range of skills, Jon established Tree Works in 2001 with the goal of providing a professional service with the best experience and tree surgeons available. Financial backing was secured from the Princes' Trust for his new Tree Surgery venture to help kick start his ambitions.
All our tree surgeon's pruning cuts comply with modern arboricultural practice that limits the impact of tree surgery on tree health. Whereby all branches are reduced, in length, back to suitable growth points. As a result the entire tree crown is reduced in size and volume, whilst retaining the tree's natural shape.
Tree Works provide a stump removal service when required by employing one of 2 stump grinders. One that is capable of getting thrugh tight gateways with awkward access and the other, more powerful stump grinding machine in the image to the right. The grinders have tungsten tipped teeth that mulch the stump below the ground level so that the hole created can be back filled and then reseeded.
With the prices for non-renewable energy soaring, the demand for renewable and less expensive energy is booming. Tree Works store hardwood logs under cover but what with demand cannot guarantee they are fully seasoned when they are delivered to your door especially in the winter months. Most customers are advised to buy 6 months before winter so that they season in time for burning.
Hedge laying is always carried out in the Winter months while the sap is down. The bottom of the hedge is cleared as much as is practicable to allow the Sun in to encourage as many new shoots as possible. Each individual tree is then pruned of large side branches. A partial cut is applied to the back of each stem and one by one woven and staked into a continuous barrier.
