Myth #1 Filing chapter 7 bankruptcy means you will lose all your property. Fact - Only non-exempt property is surrendered in Chapter 7. Most debtors are completely protected by California's exemptions and don't have any non-exempt property. That means most debtors don't give anything up. Myth #2 If you file for bankruptcy it will ruin your credit rating.
Sometimes called a "wage earners" bankruptcy, chapter 13 bankruptcy is a way for debtors with regular income to reorganize their finances. In Chapter 13 bankruptcy, you'll work with your creditors and the Bankruptcy Trustee to create a payment plan lasting 3 to 5 years. At the end of the plan, your remaining unsecured debts will be discharged.

Mr Borowitz was prompt and provided me with the information I needed to know right away. I was extremely uncomfortable filing for BK and he was able to put my mind at ease. The conversation went smooth and was quick! By the time I ended the call my contract was waiting for me in my email. I signed the contract and paid the down payment all within an hour. I would recommend this attorney to anyone struggling with debt. He was excellent.

Tldr: paid in full in April by November file had not been filed, was told that I didn't qualify for a Ch 7 and recommended a Ch 13 instead. Had to seek outside legal opinions that were contrary to what I was being told. They were unable to file my case and another firm filed within 2 days.
I went in April and they reviewed my statements and disability income. Signed an agreement that stated they would start working on my file upon completion of payment. I provided updated documents and had to probe to ask for an update on the case. I had to follow up multiple times to get a response

I needed to file bankruptcy and had no idea who to get and trust. I called 3-4 firms and was NOT impressed at all. I then called Borowitz and Clark and was VERY impressed with the kindnest and willing people to help me. I made an appt. w the Torrance Office and I was so RELIEVED with the lawyer Shannon Doyle, who I hired. She is brilliant as well as very methodical. She explained everything each step of the way. The firm Borowitz & Clark ALWAYS answered my questions in a timely manner.
Nancy Clark was the lawyer who was with me at the bankruptcy hearing and everything went well. I am so grateful
