Applied Geoscience & Engineering (AG&E) offers professional civil engineering consulting services, with special emphasis in the geotechnical and environmental areas. We also offer services in geology, hydrogeology, soil-structure interaction, foundation engineering, site development, soil laboratory testing, and construction testing.

AG&E is registered as a Small Business with the Pennsylvania Department of General Services. AG&E was established in 1979 as MA Iqbal Consultants, and later incorporated as Applied Geoscience and Engineering, Inc. in 1990.
Services
Applied Geoscience & Engineering, Inc. (AG&E) maintains a fully equipped soils laboratory which was established in 1981. The laboratory is accredited by the AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) Accreditation Program (AAP) and provides testing services to Federal, state and local agencies, architectural and engineering firms, industries, private organizations, and contractors.
AG&E personnel have provided construction inspection services for PennDOT highways and bridges, for airport and runway extensions, and for construction of industrial buildings and plants. Prior to construction, AG&E also performs site environmental screening and remediation, if required. Environmental field personnel have current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
Prepared reconnaissance soils and geological engineering reports (RSGER), geotechnical engineering reports (GER), foundation reports, Phase I, II, & III Environmental Site Assessments, and Waste Management Plans. Also, prepared and awarded boring contractors involving several thousand feet of drilling and provided certified PennDOT Drilling Inspectors.
Delineation/remediation of site contamination and preparation of construction documents for new fueling facilities, including all site development work and Township/County approvals. Design of dam/spillway repairs and new concrete outlet channel, flood study, and hydraulic analyses.

Design and preparation of construction drawings and specifications for heavy duty concrete approach slab at Car Dumper House, and site coal pile grading/drainage modifications, including new grouted rock channel.Provided inspection/testing services during construction. Environmental screening of overburden soils, subsurface investigation, and foundation design data.
AG&E has openings for engineers, field inspectors and laboratory technicians. Engineering duties involve classifying soils and rock, performing soils and foundation analyses, selecting foundation types, and preparing reports. Field inspection duties involve conducting compaction and concrete tests, approving footing subgrade, and performing other construction-related tests.
