From the start, Unity Health Care has been committed to serving the health needs of our communities. In a small room in a local shelter, Unity was originally founded in 1985 as Health Care for the Homeless Project (HCHP). HCHP provided primary health care services to homeless individuals and families that resided in local emergency shelters or on the streets of the District of Columbia.
In 1997, HCHP officially changed its name to Unity Health Care as services were expanded from not only serving people experiencing homelessness, but to providing primary and specialty care to all District residents. Over the past three decades we have grown into a network of over 20 traditional and non-traditional health centers and a walking medical outreach program.

Services
We offer quality health care services at shelters in the District for our most vulnerable population, people experiencing homelessness. We started this work over 30 years ago and are dedicated to continuing to offer this much needed service to our community. Primary care, case management, and much more is currently offered in homeless shelters located across the District.

Unity offers many services and wellness programs to help support and provide the tools patients need to hit your personal health and behavioral health goals. Speak with your provider about whether these services or programs are a good fit for you and/or your family. The program meets once a week for 6 months, then once or twice a month for the next 6 months.
Growing bones need great healthcare. We proudly provide medical and confidential counseling services at two school-based health centers and teen health clinics at our health center locations. We provide a safe, friendly and comfortable environment to meet your teen health care needs. A School-Based Health Center (SBHC) provides comprehensive primary care services in a school year round.
Your safety is our top priority. We appreciate your help in maintaining social distance by keeping appointments spaced out. Even if you have another appointment in the building, please give your WIC clinic a call before attempting to walk in. Las citas de WIC se seguirn haciendo de forma remota a travs de Telehealth para su seguridad.

I really hate this place so much. I keep hoping things get better but it doesn't. They typically have some of the worst staff here. I like my two primary doctors and there are certain staff members that are okay but for the most part, they have staff that are rude and nasty with bad attitudes and the doctors they have when you do walk-ins have the worst bedside manner. I rather bare through the pain than to go to their walk-in area.

Unity Health Care Park Side is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I came here for a walk in this morning 02/23/2020 and the system was down . When the system came back up, I was brought to the back and the nursing assistant did not know how to take my blood pressure. She had to start over twice. She also went on to tell me I had to come back to have a low risk surgery release form filled out . My wisdom teeth are hurting NOW. The NEXT available appointment is in a month. The FORM takes 2 minutes to fill out . This location looks for any REASON to turn you away .

The dentist and hygienist are awesome here. I love them but would like if they get better with scheduling. They called to let me know they had to cancel my appointment because hygienist is out sick but rescheduled me for 2months later smh. The NP's have very poor bedside manners here(Barbara Dominiquez) and the turnover rate of the Dr's here is unbelievable. They have some alright doctors but appointments be too far out to wait so stuck in walk-in with the NP's. Also, the ladies in registration could use training in customer services. Sometimes they are so caught up in off the clock

I am not impressed with this office at all. Well at least the registration and front desk area. Since I've walked into this place, the women were not as professional as they could have been. The type of conversations, the in between breaks to talk (not patient related) and the in and outs with something always different to eat in someone's hand is a bit much to have to watch when coming to the doctors or hospital. When I walk into a doctors office I expect to see all employees being EXTREMELY professional and working EXTREMELY hard until close of business. They don't seem to know

I have had the worst experience working with the dental department of Unity Health. The first issue is that it takes a long time to set up an appointment to be seen y the dentist. I have had to wait a month or more to be seen by her, each time I made an appointment. Getting teeth cleaned, is more so like pulling teeth. I had to wait three months for an open appointment date. When my date finally came, they had to cancel my appointment due to the doctor not coming in that day. Please let me inform you that they only have one person that cleans teeth and they are only there once a week! So then
