People come to counseling for many different reasons. What brought you here at this moment is as individual as you are. I believe that people need to feel a connection with their counselor to have the greatest impact. I want to provide an environment and relationship in which you can feel welcome, safe, heard and understood.

Nobody wants to feel alone. My approach in the counseling relationship is to provide a comfortable place to facilitate connection. From that center, we can begin to explore the point in your life that brought you to this place. We then can use a variety of tools to help you reach your goals. The challenges can seem overwhelming.
Services
I have provided counseling in schools, and have extensive experience working with ADD/ ADHD and learning disabilities. I use different therapies in my practice, depending on the need of each client. I believe that in the heart of therapeutic change, attunement and a high quality client - therapist relationship is at the core.
With children, I very gently and softly help the child to open the doors to self-awareness and self-ownership. As play is a child's language, I use developmentally appropriate play therapy tools, combined with a safe therapeutic relationship, to create a sense of security as we carefully explore appropriate mentally stressful experiences.
I provide couple's counseling for many reasons: premarital counseling, couple's counseling to increase basic communication skills Two women sitting on a bench hugging couple's therapy to help with deep healing that can occur after relationships really struggle in the aftermath of an affair or chronic difficulties.
What is EMDR? EMDR is an acronym for a new psychotherapeutic technique called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. EMDR is a remarkable treatment method used to heal the symptoms of trauma, as well as other emotional conditions. EMDR is the most effective and rapid method for healing PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) as shown by extensive scientific research studies.
It can take place in a family home, or more commonly in a hospital clinic. Sometimes there is one therapist present and sometimes more than one. In some circumstances, there may also be a team of people, sitting behind a one-way mirror, in another room, who are watching what is going on, and helping the therapist(s) conduct the session.
