We have JKF - World Shito-Ryu Karatedo Federation licensed instructors. This allows us to instruct classical karate as the masters wanted. Our Head Instructor - Murayama, Kunio Shihan heads the Pan-American WSKF. He are the Hombu Dojo under Shihan's guidance. Our schools instruct Traditional Shito-ryu under the Mabuni family crest, and headed by Mabuni, Kenyu Soke.
Shito-ryu is one of four major Japanese styles practiced in the world today. Shito has no translation but is broken into two Master Instructor names. Founder Kenwa Mabuni decided on the name SHI TO which was formed by taking the first characters (Kanji/Japanese writing method) from the names of his two primary teachers, SHI for Itosu and TO for Higa(shi)onna.
