Hi, my name is Jackson Ralston. I am going to be a first year vet student at Kansas State University starting Fall 2019. I went to Blue Valley Southwest high school in Overland Park and have worked at veterinary clinics in the Overland Park and Prairie Village area for the last six Summer and Winter breaks.
We are happy to introduce ourselves as the owners of Companion Care Veterinary Clinic. Over the past eight years of practicing veterinary medicine in the Johnson County area we have found a network of patients and clients that have been supportive of our approach to medicine and receptive to the idea that honest, effective communication is the foundation for trying to provide great care for our patients and their owners.
IDEXX Catalyst One for chemistry panels evaluates electrolytes and organ function for presurgical procedures, illness, and senior wellness evaluation. IDEXX Snap test for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma - check for blood parasite which may be transmitted from exposure to ticks. Our doctors are experienced in a wide variety of surgical procedures from spay and castration to cystotomy and growth removal.
I grew up in Overland Park, Kansas and have not strayed too far away from home throughout my life. Following high school at Bishop Miege, I went to the University of Kansas and earned a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing.
Upon graduation I was afforded the opportunity to travel a bit but my passion for the subject of writing was not met with the sort of success necessary for supporting ones' self, much less the habit of eating on a daily basis.Having not grown up with any connection to veterinary medicine other than owning animals, the idea of pursuing the path to becoming a veterinarian felt a bit foreign, if not overwhelming.

Dr. Scott Ripperger grew up in Grandview, Missouri, and graduated from Grandview Senior High School in 1985. He grew up with multiple hunting dogs, including Hobo the beagle and Chip the English pointer. After high school he attended and graduated from the University of Missouri, Kansas City and pursued his first career in information technology.

I will never ever ever take any of my pets anywhere else!! I was a second time dog owner, and had recently got a mini Bernedoodle named Moxie. Not only was Sam the sweetest person to answer the phone and all of my crazy questions (helicopter parent right here), but Dr. Ripperger helped me with training techniques and taught me how to not let her be my boss! She still is at times! Moxie got spayed with Companion Care and while I was terrified, they made her feel so comfortable and calm, she was so excited to go back and see them right away. She will never be afraid of the vet because Companion Care

Dr. J is an amazing vet! The staff has been incredible, minimal wait time if at all on the phone. I also love that I can get my dogs in at short notice! I’ve referred my sister and many of my clients from my hair salon 😊 I’ve had my dogs teeth cleaned, gotten allergy shots and have had multiple check ups and vaccines for my pups. They all went great, and I am happy with the prices too! Considering I was going to a holistic vet before, the experience with the Companion Care team has been affordable, prompt service, and I trust Dr. J with my dogs care without feeling like he’s selling me

After calling around to numerous vets Monday morning I was able to get a new client appointment in the afternoon for my golden retriever who had a stomach issue. What an amazing experience we had and this will officially become our vet in the future! Awesome experience all around! Thank you SO much! Feel lucky to have found this wonderful place!

We love the doctors here! We have had experience with both and they have been so wonderful. Amy is also wonderful! They go above and beyond for their patients and they are all so nice. They are always responsive and very kind to not only their patients but the owners. I moved and I still make the drive to this place. I’ll never go anywhere else. Thank you, Thank you!!✨❤️

We have had two outstanding experiences so far at Companion Care! Sam did a fantastic job grooming our two pups and Dr. Jablonski instantly gained my trust - he thoughtfully explained things, he didn’t call for any excessive or unnecessary shots/treatments (unlike other vets) and most importantly he was great with my dogs!
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place to take your fur babies. Excited to have found our new Vet Clinic!
