Originally from the East Coast, Victor Longinotti "discovered" Durango in 2004. He was immediately captivated by the mighty San Juans and the limitless potential to explore the outdoors. When he moved to Durango in 2005, Victor brought with him an expertise in lawn care, rock work, sprinkler systems and irrigation, heavy machinery, and technical (ropes) snow removal.
In 2008, he decided it was time to put his experience to work. He launched the company that would become AVL (Animas Valley Landscaping) based on the belief that every property owner should be able to rely on their landscaping company to get custom, quality work done right.

He turned a dirt pit into our favorite outdoor space. AVL also retained the hill behind our house and the landing to our growing dome. They were able to use local boulders that match our natural landscape and built beautiful solid walls that our kids love to scramble on. We highly recommend AVL!

I used AVL last summer for a fairly large landscaping project. They put in a flagstone sitting area plus walkway, fire pit , and new planter boxes around the deck. They ran a gas line from my gas meter to the fire pit which had to be dug out beforehand. They planted beautiful perennials in the boxes and also around the sitting area. I selected boulders and other rocks that they arranged around the yard beautifully. The guys that actually did the work were superb. They were always on time and worked very hard throughout the day. The cost projections were accurate. Overall, I couldn't have been happier

As someone who is relatively new to the area (2.5 years doesn't seem new but when you have to go off of peoples' word and reviews... you trust sites like these... which is why I'm leaving this review)... it's great to find someone who actually does the job. The previous company I worked with... I received one bill (and they mowed last summer and plowed all winter) and even after contacting them numerous times figuring they would get it sorted out, they didn't. So I decided to take my business elsewhere. I've known Vic for the majority of time I've lived here and
