Prior to going to Dr. Chen, I dreaded going to the dentist - thankfully, this is no longer the case.
When I moved to Santa Monica, I researched dentists online and booked an appointment with his dental office. I'm so glad that I did because he is incredible -- so gentle, so friendly, so thorough, so patient with my questions and incredibly knowledgeable!! His staff is tip top, too - so helpful, thorough, friendly and knowledgeable.
His office is super clean and aesthetically pleasing.

I just had a really great consultation with Dr Chen regarding some difficult crown work done by a previous dentist. He was thorough and gentle in his exploration; not rushed. He explained the issues so I could understand, along with the likely resolution and several options. He spent a lot of time with me and answered all my questions such that I left armed with an understanding of what has been causing my pain. He did not push or "sell" me on treatment, he simply gave me options. His staff are very helpful, kind and patient.

Dr. Chen cares about his patients so much, and he always takes time to answer questions and discuss treatment options. He is super transparent and professional. Very nice and competent staff, clean office, free parking. My insurance covered everything, but he has very competitive pricing even if you don't have dental insurance.

I've had a handful of dentists in my 40 years of life and by far Dr. Chen is the most respectable. Not pushy with procedures, quality staff, clean and organized space, I very much appreciate the polite and professional service. I felt perfectly safe going to my appointment during this pandemic. I'm grateful to have been referred to Dr Chen two years ago.

Dr. Chen is a fantastic dentist! He is so kind, gentle, and trustworthy. He explains everything in a way which is easy to understand. When a small crack developed in one of my molars, he carefully explained my options and the pros and cons of each. I've never feel like he is trying to sell me something or push an unnecessary treatment on me. I feel so comfortable going to my dental appointments with him. I know I'm in good hands. His office staff is great too.

I LOVE HIM! Holy moly! I have been going to a dentist for my whole life who is extremely pushy and seems that her only incentive is to siphon money out of me and my family. Dr. Chen is how dentistry SHOULD be; he's a doctor, not a vendor. He is extremely nice and very informative; he doesn't make you feel like you're wasting his time. Cleaning professional is also nice, and there's a TV mounted so you can WATCH NETFLIX while you get your teeth cleaned.

I've been going to Dr. Chen about 5 years now, since moving to Santa Monica, and have had nothing but good experiences. The hygienists are thorough, his advice is good, and they are often able to find openings in their schedule that work well for me. After difficulty scheduling with my kids' pediatric dentist, I moved my kids over to Dr. Chen and they made our kids feel right at home.

Absolutely amazing work. I had 3 fillings done at once in about hour and half time total. Team is amazing, Dr. Chen is very gentle, very precise, I felt no discomfort or pain at any point (considering I hate dental work like most people do). I would absolutely love to go back and get more work done when needed.

I have been a patient of Dr. Chen's since he was with Dr. Wood on Montana.
In the new office, one time while checking my teeth, Dr. Chen was asking his front desk about the schedule of patients coming up. But he's looking at my teeth, and he says, "Too many holes. Too many holes...

Dr. Chen and his team are absolutely wonderful. I went here for seven years and could not have been more lucky to be their patient. Unfortunately my new insurance in the OC doesn't work with their office, but trust me if that changes I will be going right back despite the hour drive. I will miss Maya so much! She is the sweetest! Best team around. Love that I can watch TV while I get my teeth beautifully and meticulously cleaned. Don't forget to floss Dr. Chen!

Found my exceptional new dentist who has phenomenal team of hygienists too. Dr. Chen is a people person, professional, skilled, patient, and very respectful. On the consultation, he explained everything and answered every question. I was looking for a dentist who would be conservative. I like healthy teeth and want to keep mine. Full mouth X-rays were taken during the consultation, there was one area of a tooth that could either be the natural shape of my tooth or a cavity, Dr Chen asked me to get my prior X-rays so he could have all the information. Dr. Chen is amazing! He had to redo the fillings after my previous incompetent dentist and he did a great job. He and his assistant are very patient and make sure you feel comfortable in the chair and have pain free experience. I was really impressed from step one in his office - he talks you through the entire process, explains everything in great detail what he is doing. So you leave feeling confident in his work. I must say, some doctors don't see anything but a dollar sign when you enter their office. Definitely not this doctor.
