Professor Tax began in 1981 around Asheville, N.C. Licensed by the U.S. Treasury Department as an enrolled IRS agent, Henry Baurley (CEO) drummed up business the old fashioned way, going door-to-door, meeting people face-to-face. Then, several years ago, a setback in business that would have caused most to nail up an out-of-business sign, instead turned it into a nationwide opportunity.
