Obituaries act as quiet reminders of the finite nature of our lives. Yet, for those who have recently experienced the death of a family member or friend, an obituary means so much more. It is a bittersweet reminder of all we've lost, but it can also help us to remember all we enjoyed while they were alive.
G. K. Chesterton wrote, Courage is almost a contradiction in terms. It means a strong desire to live taking the form of readiness to die. The men and women who served in the armed forces, whether during a time of war, or one of peace, are living examples of that contradiction. Each should be honored and remembered, so that our gratitude never fades.
All we need to do is say the word "funeral" and within microseconds, you have an image in your mind of what a funeral looks like. This mental image comes from many sources: the geographical place, culture and society in which we live; our faith; our life experience.
Obviously then, a funeral service in Borneo would look very different from one held in Tanzania; there are even significant differences between the funerals held in ethnically and/or geographically diverse regions of North America.Yet, despite the differences, these funeral services have much in common.

We had had dealings with funereal home some years back and they were wonderful to work with AT THAT TIME , However our son passed away and it took two or three days to get the body to the funereal home. The gentleman that worked with us wore the same crumbled shirt for two days. We expected a shirt and tie if not a suit. Very unprofessional look. Our son’s children wanted a private viewing and when we saw our son he was just laid on a table and He looked awful! they didn’t even comb his hair. Terrible experience!

When my mother passed, my brother and I were at a complete loss when it came to how to do things. Jennifer at Evergreen couldn't have been sweeter and more understanding. She led us through the process with love and tenderness. She never tried to upsell us on anything. She listened to what we wanted and tailored a plan to give my mother the send off she deserved. We will be forever grateful for the help she gave us in our most tremendous time of need.

Our extended family has used Evergreen Funeral Home for decades. Most recently our father died and Jamie Callaway and others at Evergreen went out of their way to make everything as easy as possible for us. They were thoughtful and professional. The funeral was at St. Mary's Cathedral and they worked well with them. The same with the cemetery. After our first face-to-face meeting, Jamie and I were able to handle things quickly and efficiently by email. We were all very happy with their service.

No parent should ever have to bury their child. The entire Evergreen staff was beyond professional and comforting when all I could manage was nodding my head yes or no. I answered the questions and made the selections for what we wanted for the service. They allowed me and friends to bring in all kinds of memorabilia, helped set up the visitation room AND assisted during the service. They added their special touches to the ceremony atmosphere as well. In one’s time of desperate need, the Evergreen staff provided the much needed professional, level-headedness and compassionate assistance allowing
